i seem to be have alot of problems with getting this car to run properly

symptoms are:

~can barely idles
~afr is all over the place after i hit the throttle
~pops bangs and falls on its face if i try to drive it

considering my car has a custom intercooler sset up, is it possible that since i have a draw through maf that its taking to long for the air to get to the engine after being metered?

would i be beter off with a slot stye blow through?
can i use a 05+ slot ?

feed bak and suggestions would be appreciated

You need to use a blow thru meter with an intercooler set up. Change the meter and your problems will be solved.

Either an HPX slot style meter or an SCT-BA2600 or something along those lines in a blow thru configuration.

The bigger the inlet tube you put them in, the greater the range.

ok thats good to know...

does that mean that a 05+ meter will or wont run out of metering range in a 3" tube?

i would want to put it after the bypass valve right? that way im not metering the air thats recirculated over and over

In a 3" tube, it'll max at 1000kg/hr which means you shouldn't use it on a vehicle that will demand more than about 850-900. A blown engine is likely to be well above that. A N/A engine is likely to be up near that so I'd think a boosted stock engine would too and any boosted engine with mods is going to be well above this. Here's a thread I recently started about using a slot style MAF in a 3" pipe:
Custom intake track for slot style MAF sensor

But bottom line is a 3" pipe will work well with most stock engines and the stock slot sensor. For any built N/A engines or lightly boosted engine should use a 4" pipe. I never got a clear indication from anybody whether the stock Ford slot sensor will work well in a blow-thru application. Although it seems that aftermarket slot style sensor is better equipped for blow-thru boosted engines AND works well in a 3" pipe.
