Like a total newb, I accidentally left the ignition on before I hooked up the battery and fried the EEC. It would just crank and crank but no start. I've replaced the EEC and reinstalled the Quarterhorse onto the new EEC and, while it does start up a little, it will not stay alive. I've quadrupled-checked everything.

I was just wondering if there was anyway to check if the Quarterhorse was still ok?

It is still being recognized by Binary Editor and it seems to read and write just fine, but no matter what changes I make, it still will not start. I'm sort of hoping not to spend another $250

*Will update sig with mods and such soon*

Probably the easiest way to determine if it is fried is to disconnect the QH from the EEC. Turn the ignition ON and see if the fuel pump cycles ON for 1 second, then OFF. If it does, then the EEC is good.

Now reconnect the QH with what you believe to be a good tune IN ALL 8 TUNE POSITIONS with the QH configured for a Mode other than 0. Turn the ignition back ON. If the fuel pump still turns ON then back OFF after 1 second, then the QH is probably just fine and the problem is tune related. If the fuel pump turns ON and stays ON, but turns OFF with the QH disconnected, then yeah the QH is probably fried.

Ok, I just came back from doing that. The stock ecu will idle with some pedal mashing (motor is massively flooded) and the pump does the initial priming for a couple of secs so that's a relief.

 Wait....so you're supposed to have a tune in all 8 positions normally? I've only had an A9P modded for 36lb injectors in the first slot. Will having empty slots cause a no-start?

Thanks though, I will give that a shot after I change the oil tommorow.

Follow this for more details as to why that is necessary:
