Hey guys i just got my turbo 5.0 project up and going.. its a stock 5.0 block with a mvb 4r70w trani.. I have the lighting maf (which was calibrated for 42 pound injectors) and some ford racing 42 pound injectors.. Well long story short i set up the maf as a blow threw setup up.. the car would not idel with the 42s and the maf and was really rich.. put the stock injectors back in to get it up and goign and it did great.. now my question is i have Qh but have yet to set it up (need a base map) should i get rid of the lighting maf now or try it out with a tune?? I havnt really heard any good stuff on it but i figured what better place to ask then Eectuning.. If it can be tuned out with the QH and handle 500whp (tops) id like to keep it.. if you guys think its better up upgrade now i was thinkin of C&l one??

Any input would be great im a bit of a noob to the mustang world

How'd you get a LMAF 'calibrated' for different injectors? And for what application was it to replace?

I think it is funny how people think they are buying LMAFs calibrated for 42s. Most aren't. They just happen to be a curve that at the top-end of the curve matches well with the capabilities of 42s. But the lower end of the curve doesn't match up well at all with what a real "calibrated" MAF for 42s looks like. Although I guess it is possible there's some company out there that can recal these things. But I suspect people are just selling LMAFs with 42s as matched sets when they really aren't.

As for the LMAF, if it is the same sensor as the stock sensor, they don't work well in blow-thru setups. So unless the MAF is installed in a draw-thru configuration, you'll want to upgrade now. And no, I would not recommend an upgrade to a C&L. Go with something a bit higher quality than that. I think another thread here recently in the last day or two was recommending an 05 slot style MAF over the LMAF for blow-thru configurations.

You say stock maf before. But stock as in? Is it a mustang, 93? 5.0, etc. Some details on your combo can help us out a lot. I think Chris summed it up quite well.

He's got it in a blow-thru application. You still believe he can tune around that?

you can do anything you want its your car, if the vehicle came to me i'd make it work, wouldn't be perfect but it'd be where it needed to

you could always add fuel with a little clever thinking

blow through vs draw through doesn't mean anything in my book
