Posting this question for a friend who is also a user on here but it's easier and quicker for me to get on here.

The question is; is there ANY interchangeable eecs for the CRAJ0M8/AOL3? Like a standard GT eec, even though they are not the 4 valve?

I don't have a clue on these at all, but the '98 Cobra eec that he is trying to tune is suspect to being bad. I'm having a heck of a time finding much at all about these on here, not sure if it's just since they aren't the common eec or due to me not knowing what I'm searching for exactly being dumb to these.

Hopefully someone that deals with these can answer, or he will chime in and state the problems he is having.

Thanks

What is the hardware number? Should start with an ML- or something similar. That determines the interchange.

Thanks Ryan, I'll see if I can get it out of him.

It's ML2-872. I have no clue what to do with that # though.

Find any other ECU with that number and you can use the aol3 tune on it. I used to have a list with most hardware numbers crossed with the box code but I seem to have lost it. The Tweecer site might have something like that in his lookup database he has.

I personally haven't looked into anything much really since I don't have a clue on these. Just what little bit I could find on the site, which isn't much. He hasn't either since he was asking me about it, but thanks Mike, at least now I have a possible "car" to look into that may be a fit.

Thanks, that's one less that needs to be considered a source.

They are hardware compatible. The calibrations may need to be revised.

Great, that really broadens the spectrum and puts to rest a fear we had that the "common" 2 valve ones wouldn't work.

Thanks again.

This is true of a lot of the 99+ PCM's, but many 96-98 v8 PCMs interchange.
