I get:
"Make sure you have the latest revision of the Strategy file. The scalars worksheet in the strategy file is not int he correct format or missing" Details: Cannot find column -1.
I install BE2012 and am using the GUFB.xls version 94.
Any ideas?

I also installed the Office Access Database Engine, that didn't change anything...

I've gotten that error in the past, but each time I did, it was because of a bug in BE. However I don't recall ever getting that error with a released version of BE. It was always with beta (unreleased) versions. Talk with Clint about what this could be. I'm 99% sure it isn't related to the def file though.

Tried updating everything and still get the error "Generic Failure" when I start BE, but it will still start. Then when I try to load any stadegy, I get error "cannot find column -1"

ALSO, This is a windows 7 64 bit laptop, if that matters

This has something to do with the Excel plugin not launching correctly in BE. But I don't know anything further about it than that. Any further detail as to what it means and what you can try to get past this will have to be from Clint (or someone else in the know).

What version of BE2012 are you running, the latest version is hosed some how, it changed my registered version to unregistered until I went to a previous restore point.

The new version is not hosed. It is most likely that the strategy is out of date or you are trying to open a CRY file that is not supported.
