This is a continuation ofhttp://eectuning.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18496 that I started nearly a year ago!! We got it back running again today after messing with all kinds of misc. crap that was messed up...namely my HUGE BONEHEAD mistake...IAT sensor in the ECT sensor HOLE...ya, KICK ME IN MY BALL$!!!!

At any rate, we got the timing set back to 10* and FP @39 PSI with the vac. hose off. It idles pretty good now on this tune but I'm still not absorbing the steps I need to feel confident to put it on the road, aside from the fact I still haven't fixed the "no reverse" issue (leaking reverse piston seal I believe)...

Here is the latest datalog and my tune that is presently set up

side note, reading http://eectuning.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17439&hilit=decipha+Fuel+101 I have a question...I have an electric fan on this, do I need to disable the fan to get this dialed in? I'd be scared to run this motor for 15 mins with no fan running! Just saying....

nevermind, I see I need to get the fuel right first THEN do the Idle air, just not completely sure of how to get there

so according to this quote
Quote:
Whatever is in the base fuel table will be your lambse.
E.G: At 80% Load with an ECT of 180 you will be looking at a lambse of 12.58.
If your wideband reads 11.58, you are to rich at this load point.
If you have a MAF voltage of 4.0 volts at 80% load, you go to that voltage point in the MAF transfer and reduce that kg/hr until you get 12.58 (or very close to it). You do this for all voltage points on the MAF transfer.
from this post http://eectuning.org/forums/posting.php?mode=quote&f=2&p=100043

SOOO, my lambse at idle (about 40% load??? and about .5-.6 volts) is 12.62 and my AFR is around 14.3-15.2

This would mean I need to go to the MAF curve and INCREASE the KG/HR at the voltage of .5-.6 and hopefully it will end up matching the Lambse and AFR (or get it closer at least!)

Let me make sure my math is correct.... the difference between what I'm commanding (12.62) and what it is (~14.7) would be 14.7/12.6= 14% ???? SO I increase the MAF curve at .5-.6 Volts by 14% ??(multiply the KG/HR for that voltage by 1.14)

To clarify; your load is in the mid 20’s 24 – 26, it is your MAF flow that is in the mid 40’s. To me your base fuel for idle, LAMBSE readings, are too rich you are commanding low 13’s instead of 14.64.
Your AFR is at a good reading but, unfortunately you aren’t commanding mid 14’s. Change your Fuel – Stabilized OL table. Make the bottom 2 or 3 rows up to 50% load 14.64 in all of the cells then log and repeat this whole process.

Thank you! I am "beginning" to get a grasp of this despite having been reading/following stuff on here for several years. Unfortunately for ME, I'm a visual person, if I can see something done, or how to do something that's it, i've got it, the other...well ya, that takes some time! Thanks for bearing with me while I "eat this elephant"...

I can't wait to get it dialed in some, it was pretty fun N/A before the turbo kit (EFI 331 with the AOD)

I got the transmission pulled out this afternoon/evening and got it torn down to the point where I can get to the "reverse" stuff, I've got new seals for the reverse drum piston, and then also a new reverse servo piston, so hopefully that will cure my "no reverse" problem....

in all honesty i've never had any kind of luck with AODs, some folks do I haven't nor have i known anyone personally to, nor have i tuned any vehicles that had one hold up

best mod for the AOD is a 4r70w swap

this one has all the 4r70w stuff in it...mechanical diode, extra clutches/steels in every drum, one piece input, PTC converter, 2 inch o/d band...blah blah blah! :geek:
