I have read many threads about cars where things are not running right. And I know I am a novice with tuning, but I thought it may be worthwhile sharing my experience with tuning and the success I have had with the information I have gleaned from the threads of this forum. Below are the end results so far. I have not included the "story" with how the car got to this point, only the improvement in driveability and economy that has been realised.

Most of the specs for my car engine should be in the signature.

My car is around 1600kg (3500lb) and has a 3.45 differential. The auto transmission has ratios fom 2.38 to 0.68 over 4 gears.

The engine in this car was near identical to the 1993 Mustang Cobra. I drive the car daily to and from work 5 days a week roughly 25km (15miles) each way and fuel economy before engine change was 13.4L/100km(17.5mpg). This is half light suburban and half heavy suburban traffic. The car is averaging 39km/hr (24mph).

After the changes to the engine in the signature the car was getting at best 15.4L/100km (15.3mpg). The car was undriveable unless you used both feet on the brake and accelerator to keep it running.

I made changes to the injector timing and the idle scalars and functions that I found on this forum and am now getting 13.8L/100km (17mpg) and the car is a relative pussy cat to drive.

All the changes made to the tune on this car was plagiarised from this forum. If anyone is interested I can post links to the source threads, as they have been life savers.

And I have just realised I have posted this in the wrong area. Can this please be moved to Tuning the EEC... section?
