Hi all EECTuning!

Well for the last couple of days i have being doing some research, and i have found a very interesting text file that points to a lot of scalars and other parameters on this strat, i have concatenated most of the addresses of the existing 8C rev. definition and i have a lot of positive matches on this scalars how ever...

Let me be very straight i am by no means any expert on hex and much less addresses on this matter, but i have the feeling that this document could do some very improvements on this strat.

I have done some testing on "new" scalars that resemble some parameters that i was familiar with ( i was a CBAZA guy before) but i would really like to have some guidance on some doubts on addressing in BE, most of the scalars match the address with the padding of 2000 Bytes, but this document makes a lot reference to a type that i am not familiar with for example Type=Meq , i am not sure what is that type of parameter, as i have said all the Scalar Types matches, also i found a lot of FLAGS that could possibly add the possibility to have a lot of dataloging parameters , some of them even not useful but a lot more interesting , its a really long road as i see it, but i would really like to talk to the DEF gurus and have some help here. I have found that CDAN4 and CRAI8 share a lot of scalars and parameters.

So far i have made a few additions to this and , there are some that could be corrected if they are in doubt like Spark - Tip in Retard which is on doubt with address 0X1B379 in BE and i have the 0XF379 address on this document.

I insist there are a lot of work on this file and some of them don’t make any sense, and even there are some that could not be That useful . I would not be very specific on this matter but i would like to have some advice since i am really interested on adding more parameters to this strat.

I by no means claim any credit on this document this was found probably its known already, but i would really like to help on this strat even tho i think there are not many CDAN4 Users with Tweecer or QH.

here is the link to this Text file

Please take a look and chime in all DEF gurus that would like to help to discover some more information

i would like to post the 8C rev that i have modified so far.

Thanks a lot for reading, i am trying to give some thing back to this community that have made so much for everyone there including myself.

I can help on the formating of the def files. Send me an email with the questions and so on. I have a doc that describes all of the def file parameters.

I took a quick glance at the file and it is easier to view if you change the extention to xls.

Oh BTW CDAN4 is on rev 11 and 8c should not be your base file.

Derek has a CDAN4 def that is more accurate than what is open sourced here. Evidently somewhere around the time Ford went to EEC-V, they also changed the way they do programming. Instead of having a single location for frequently accessed values, they hard-code those values throughout the code. What this means is changing a scalar in one place may only be doing 1/2 the job. There may be other places in the code where that same scalar exists and also needs to be updated. BE was even updated to handle the condition where scalars can have multiple offset locations in the code. The current CDAN4 def doesn't consider this aspect AFAIK. But his CRY version of CDAN4 does for the scalars he's identified are in multiple locations. He hasn't completely walked the code to confirm that all locations of these instances have been accounted for. But personally, I'd be more comfortable with his version than the open source one. You'll need to talk to him in more detail as to whether he's comfortable enough with letting his version go for someone to test out and verify.

I wish I had more detail on this subject. I'm more just relaying info he's told me about what he's found. When he developed the CQAB1 def (97 Explorer 5.0L), he said it was very similar to the CDAN4, and so everything that is in that CRY def is from what he knows about CDAN4. But before CQAB1 is ready for more than just a reference def, it needs some updating and more work. But until others show a paying interest in that strat, there's no real need to spend time on further development of it.

I'm new here and to BE but I'm spending a lot of my spare time trying to pick this up as best and as fast as possible. I see a lot of potential in it so any help I can do I'd be more then willing to lend. I have a 96' GT right now with mods so just let me know.

Its good to know that we have another CDAN4 user on the forums , however i would recomend to buy the cry version since its alot more complete than the open source one.

And in the definition text i posted before i dont know for sure if the cry version has all the parameters however it may be good to take a look on it.

LOL   the CRY version of the definition files are paid definitions to write to hardware (Tweecer/Moates/QH), and also to save the binary, you can try the definition but you would not be able to use it , you can tke a look on the definition and see if it fits your needs.
