Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm getting a ton of electrical noise from somewhere. I can talk to the qh fine when the car is in the on position but when its running, the qh constantly connects and disconnects from my laptop. I can tell I have a ton of electrical noise as the tach will actually jump from time to time. What is the best way to diagnose and fix this problem? Thanks!

Hey,
Did you check out Joel's section? It think in there, or in there was a link to grounds. If I recall right, I think it was 3 key cables that you want good connectivity. Battery to engine, engine to firewall, and fender apron back to battery. Nice clean solid connections on those.

Thanks didnt even dawn on me. I was thinking more of it picking up interference through the air than it picking it up from the charging system I will check it out tonight. I will clean cables and grounds. I got a 4 gauge wire going from engine to frame then got factory strap from back of intake to firewall and them the factory battery cables but my battery does have a little corrosion starting on the negative cable so I will take care of this stuff and see what happens. Should I upgrade all my cables to thicker finer strand cables?

As long as they are all there and in good shape, I think you should be good. Never did anything extra with my stuff.

I use an old walkman cassette radio, remove and extend the tape head with about 12 inches of wire. Put the headphones on, push play and move the tape head around in the vehicle to find the noise source.

We had an MSD box mounted near the ecu and it caused the same issue as you described. The QH would connect and disconnect.
