Hi,

I'm new to the the tuning world and have a few questions as to when BE, EA, and/or Logworks. I've been reading through the forums and it seems that people mostly just talk about using BE. So far I have downloaded a strategy GUFB and calibration A9L2.bin in to BE I have made a few minor changes to it such as SARCHG (CID)=331, AHISL (High Slope)= 36lbs, and ALOSL (Low Slope)= 47.88. I'm not really sure if I need to change anything else before starting to datalogging. I've contacted the company that I bought my MAF meter from to try and get a sheet on it. It's a PMAS Velocity 95mm calibrated for 36lb injector, but I thought I'd probably go ahead and just give it a shot with the current changes and go from there. I realize that I need to push the tune to the QH via BE & connect my MTX-l to my computer, but I'm not clear on which program I need to be using to datalog, BE or maybe even Logworks that came with the MTX-l? Also what program I should be reading the logs in and how to read it? Also could someone explain what EA is used for? Maybe a normal routine for starting a tune? (ex. load strategy, load base configuration, and make change to it, save it, load it to the QH, datalog, examine, and repeat)?

If someone could point me it the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

First I would read this:

BE is what you will use to push the tune to the QH, and datalog.

Logworks you install once, and only use once to get started, again see the first link.

EA is used to analyze the datalog that you recorded with BE.

I've tried the steps listed in the link, but I still can't get my mtx-l to show up in BE. Any suggestions? It does however seem to work in Logworks. Thanks

I don't own BE but I do own an MTX-L and a QH. If I want to run TunerPro and LogWorks at the same time I have to ensure I connect TunerPro to the QH first and LogWorks 2nd. For some reason I haven't looked into yet, Windows 7 will not keep the COM ports I define for both FTDI devices. It all comes down to load order. If I do it backwards both devices get knocked 'off-line'.

I was having trouble getting my MTX-L to show up in BE and was therefore unable to datalog. I had tried the steps listed in the above link and I had also talked with a couple of other tuners who suggested these steps as well, but I unable to get it working. So I contacted Clint from BE and he was able to get it working by disabling Moates in the Hardware tab while leaving Innovate enabled(make sure you have the right port settings), then "clicking" the green "Start button" at the top to start polling the hardware. It detected the MTX-L almost immediately. He then was able to re-enable the Moates and everything worked correctly.
