but why isn't he able to get the data logging working with the QH?
I'm not sure of the technical hurdles. The "hacking" portion of tuning these ECU's is a bit over my head at this point.

If you only want to datalog through the OBD port an ELM-327 cable works. The Mongoose will datalog and write tunes. I currently have a Mongoose, ELM-327 and a TWEECER in my cars. All have their place and work well. Adam, Clint, Sailor Bob and Mike (Glover) are all great and have advanced tuning light years and they always seam eager to help.
A friend has an ELM-327 that I am going to borrow soon. If it works well, I'll probably go that route.
Adam and Clint have both been very helpful for me.

the only downfall with the goose is that it takes about 3 minutes to write a 4 bank ecu
the qh still lets you do instant updates which makes life easier
the goose doesnt exactly log all that great for me, i was told its because i dont have an intel based laptop
i personally use an xcal3 to log obd2, SCT has excellent DL support and in addition you dont need a laptop to log
This is the kind of feedback I'm really looking for. So, with the Mongoose writing directly to the ECU, I lose the ability to do instant updates (with engine running/driving), correct? Changing the tune requires cycling the ignition similar to using a handheld flash device?
I've got a XCal3 that I'm not using, so I might give that a shot as well.
Thanks again for all the info. You guys are great.
