This is an old post and hasn't been updated by Jon in a long while. I have more updated posts in the FAQ available that should serve as better starting points. I would recommend starting with this one:
How to get started and Best Practices

That topic will link off to all the other "starter" threads worth reading including the document shown in this thread.

This is the most common and very open ended question.

For starters, I would suggest taking a look at all of the available documentation on the main page (you will need to be registered with the forums in order to download or view any of the documentation/files).

Specifically, I would recommend all beginners start with this document.

The learning curve for these tuning devices can be steep for some people (depending on the amount of modification required and the users technical ability). If you do not have the time or patience to learn why the EEC does what it does for your combination, then I would suggest you pay someone to tune the car for you.

If you have any specific questions after reading the available documentation, please use the search capability on the forums. If you do not get your answer still, feel free to post a new thread pertaining to your question. Remember to include all applicable information when posting (ie: year of car, EEC processor, modifications, the specific problem, etc).

We do have a 'Calibrations' category on the main page which includes user-uploaded tunes. There may be a tune you can work with in that section, just make sure you understand that these tunes are NOT under any warranty and you can damage your car with a bad/improper/incorrect tune. If you have a tune you wish to share please post it there by clicking the '+ Add Item' button on that page.

Thanks for coming to EECTuning.org, good luck with your vehicle!

File comment: Preliminary draft of eec tutorial.

This document is a good starting guide for tuning the EEC with the TwEECer or other tuning device.
