AFAIK .BEB files cannot be shared between other computers. I wanted to send my .BEB file to someone to look at, but the file only works with my computer. Would it be possible to make these files viewable by other computers without losing the integrity of the encryption for the .CRY file?

I sent Decipha a .BEB from the CBAZ0.CRY and he couldn't open it and I couldn't open the .BEB he sent me. When I try to load his .BEB file it gives me an error message Decryption failed file is corrupt and the error details show Error 61: Reading Calibration File "Index was outside the bounds of the array." :dunno:
He said he was getting the same error from the file I sent him. The file I sent him loaded just fine on my computer.

You may each have CBAZ0 defs from different def developers. For instance if one of you has a CBAZ0 from Derek and the other from Adam at POPSRACING, then a BEB created with one CBAZ0 may not be openable with the other. I don't know that this is the case, but I could see that as a possibility.

I often open .beb files from other people so I don't know what's up there unless Chris's thought is correct. Hopefully Clint will provide an answer.

Clint, can you confirm that if you have two different CRY defs created by different developers will open the same BEB? For instance, can I have a CBAZ0.CRY def from Derek and open a BEB created by someone that bought Adam's CBAZ0.CRY? They have two different encryption keys. So I could see how BE might not open a BEB not created by a CRY of the same key.

Yes the strategy has different encryption methods but the calibrations are the same. So to answer the quest yes if both are the same strat and both are encrypted then they can both open the same BEB.

These are the files I tried to use. The hug2.BEB is the one that works on my computer, but the other one gives errors.

I tried my hug2.BEB file with a CBAZ0.CRY file and the CBAZ0 read only.CRY file and it opens fine. So I tried the other one with the CBAZA read only.CRY and it still won't open. I don't have CBAZA.CRY file unlocked so I couldn't try it that way. :dunno:

I was under the impression he sent the file to me using the CBAZA strategy. So It shouldn't matter whether I have the CBAZA read only or the unlocked one to read a .BEB file or am I missing something.

if it is a HUG2 then you must use CBAZ0 and not CBAZA.

From what he posted I thought the Hug2-decipha.BEB he sent me was from a CBAZA.CRY and the HUG2.BEB I sent to him was from a CBAZ0.CRY.

I don't know, but I think I'm confused now.

That makes two of us.

I have not had a chance to look at either tune. I am not on my dev PC.
