Tuning hardware for non-Ford vehicles? (sorry!)
Hey All, I still have my 88 supercharged LX coupe that has a quarterhorse and Binary editor, etc. etc., still runs awesome (although sits in a garage a lot since I bought it back) I recently purchased a (gasp) 2011 Camaro LS (yes a V6) that I was hoping to tinker with just like my Mustang, but I onl...

Re: Classifieds?
So I can’t seem to get any invoice details off moates site- it was purchased March 26, 2019. Emails at the time don’t really have much info other than the purchase date and a link to the detailed invoice which doesn’t work. I’ll actually just keep it to be honest. Never know, I may get another car t...

Re: Classifieds?
Good question. I’ll have to track down my invoice to see. I don’t know it off the top of my head.

Classifieds?
Hi folks I have looked in the classifieds and that forum looks a little jacked up it’s been a long time since I’ve been in the forums but I have a binary editor dongle that I no longer have a use for and I was wondering if I could post it up for sale somehow- I’m not even sure of anyone buys these a...

Re: Stock bins
I’ve looked at TP a couple years ago after I downloaded it but never actually used it on the car I had at the time. So I’m not entirely unfamiliar with it but I spent ~10 years working with BE so it became almost second nature. If tuner pro makes it easier to tune whatever car I get next, then of co...

Re: Stock bins
efidyontuning.com has the FBGIO strategy and the stock MGZT .bin as well as abundant info on how to use the fbgi0.xdf. He uses Tunerpro. I'm using it for an F150 because there's a lot of stuff to play with and it works with my cluster. I'm sort of surprised this resource hasn't been mentioned in th...

Re: Stock bins
My ecm is ryak1/zya2 in my mach 1. I would contact Ben at coretuning to see if he can send you an unlocked tune to study on. Alot of people used sct/bama tunes on the 99-04 cars. Thanks I will definitely reach out to him. I’m just hoping I don’t have to completely relearn everything I learned over ...

Hi Folks, I am a long time member who hasn't been on in awhile because I had to sell my 88 coupe back in 2020 after a messy divorce. I am looking at purchasing a 1999 to 04 GT or Cobra next summer and I wanted to study up on the differences in the computer compared to what I was running in my 88 (A9...

Yes I was playing around with it last night late and got it to work (and put the one I want on the list). Thanks for the reply.

Compare feature in Binary Editor
Hey folks, I think I may have asked this once before but I searched and couldn’t find it- I am trying to use the compare button to look at two tunes in BE (2012) and I see there are several of my older tunes there as choices, but how do I get a different tune to appear in that drop down choice? The ...

Re: Text size in BE digital gauges when datalogging?
Yeah it kind of sucks because a couple of my read outs are too big for me to see them in the boxes. No biggie because I can obviously read the datalog but it would be nice to see the real time numbers as well. I'm not sure why these two ended up like that either.

Re: Moates Quarterhorse
Yeah I didn’t realize you weren’t using BE for this issue. Seems odd anyway that you would need the key on because it’s srill the QH right? I notice you wrote that “BE forces you to use the key anyway...”, well it shouldn’t. At least it never has for me. When I first started in all this (2006 maybe?...

Re: Moates Quarterhorse
*IME, corrupting a tune is much easier than people think. The key MUST BE ON before connecting to the Quarterhorse. Playing with the MAF while the engine is running can also do it. Are you sure this is accurate? From the Binary Editor/QH guidebook I use: "The QH’s memory is battery backed therefore...

Text size in BE digital gauges when datalogging?
Hi folks, I can't seem to resize the text size in a couple of my digital gauges when datalogging- I recently added a couple (dashpot and battery volts) and for some reason the text numbers in those boxes are huge, and don't really fit onto the gauge "box". I searched this but only saw some info from...

Fuel pressure “issue”?
Hi all, I was doing some driveway data logging this afternoon and noticed my fuel pressure was bobbing up and down at idle (is normally at 38 psi or so at idle) and nothing in the data log for fuel was changing at all. Then the gauge dropped to zero, but the car didn’t even sputter or change at all....

Hey folks I was wondering what people have done to change their tunes (quarterhorse/binary editor) to prevent a shop from abusing the car when dropped off for a couple days. I am going to be dropping my car off soon to get painted (or wrapped, I haven’t decided yet) and want to prevent any abuse. I ...

Re: Mixing tunes between BE versions?
Update- it seems like this is an issue with reading tunes in my BE 2012/single set up. No other issues really. I’m not sure if Clint will have the time to look into it, but it’s not a huge problem for me as I really don’t need to read my tune anyway. I wrote one from scratch in BE 2012 and sent it t...

Re: Mixing tunes between BE versions?
Chris thanks for looking at it. I’m stumped- the tune seems fine until it gets written to the car. Perhaps I will reach out to Clint tomsee if he can set up a remote connection to my laptop (I think he’s done that in the last when I had other issues). Part of me wants to write the tune to the car an...

Re: Mixing tunes between BE versions?
Yes that was going to be my plan as well- to see if it keeps happening (so far it has three consecutive times after “reads”). Does Clint still lurk in here at all? I hate to bother him about stuff like this but it may come to that. I don’t see any other issues just the 8-10 scalars that have “error”...

Re: Mixing tunes between BE versions?
Chris I noticed this morning that when I wrote the tune to the car it seemed to work fine- until I “read” the tune back and that’s when the errors/incorrect values appeared in about ten different scalars. I also noticed two “fuel base OL” tables, one an exact duplicate of the other. Not sure if some...

Re: Mixing tunes between BE versions?
Couple screenshots attached here. Interestingly, the errors in the scalars are not there now when I just opened BE. The values seem to be correct now. I haven't tried to write the tune or hook up the QH but all I did was open BE to check the version. Odd... Version 5.173, GUF1 based tune (from stock...

Re: Mixing tunes between BE versions?
Chris, I have been playing around with my new version (or at least what I think is newer) of BE and tonight when I wrote my tune to the car using the new version w/dongle, I got several error boxes popping up on scalars that apparently have the wrong values in them- when I look at the scalar in dept...

Re: Mixing tunes between BE versions?
Thanks for the reply- I only got BE 2012 recently because the laptop I had 2010 installed on (not a dongle) has been acting up and is ten years old now. I wanted to have the dongle (which only comes with BE 2012) so when this old laptop finally gives up the ghost I can still tune.

Mixing tunes between BE versions?
Hi folks, I have tuned with BE 2010 for years and use these tunes in my car currently, but I recently purchased BE 2012 (with the dongle) so I was wondering if I open a tune that was created in BE 2010 in the new version will it screw it up? I guess what I am asking is are the versions interchangeab...
