Re: taking my car to a dyno shop for tuning
No, you will need to remove the EEC from the vehicle in order to install the QH.

Re: tuning help with anderson pms
Because people are scared of the QH. I've had the argument 100 times with a co-worker. What it boils down to he is scared of all the power the QH has. He just wants to go in and +3, -2 his fuel and timing until it runs to what he perceives is the best it possibly can.

With the tach dropping out you can tell it's not fuel. Sounds like TFI dropping out, or possibly an ignition box (if you're running one).

You can write a different tune to all 4 positions. Make sure you have TwEECer enabled in the hardware tab.

Re: Base tune 460 running A9L?
Step 1. Ditch the stock MAF.
You'll peg that sucker by about 3000 rpm with that hoss under the hood.
I'd go ahead and use the 42# injectors and a LMAF, but that's just me....

Double check the part number on your injectors to be sure they are 24#. IIRC there is a similar injector that's actually around a 15#.

Re: Excessive Idle fuel issues
Glad you got it figured out. I figured that's what was wrong with it.
The gas has now built up in your exhaust and will take a while of driving to get it all out. Hopefully it won't light off the mufflers, sometimes that happens. They will look like a tuna can that an M80 went off inside.

It's funny how some really old and basic tuning stuff (like Hondata) has a great working table trace and something so "smart" as the BE does not... Always baffled me a little bit, but not enough to try to figure it out.

Fix the mechanical issues first, then start tuning. If it has no vacuum, then something is wrong. Fix that first.

Re: Dialing in ignition timing without knowing cam specs
You are way overthinking this. It should run pretty decent with the STOCK ignition timing. Then you can play with the timing low, mid, and high loads from there. As a start, you can try just adding 6* globally and see how that reacts.

Re: Excessive Idle fuel issues
If the car will run, and it's putting that much fuel in to the engine, then you've probably got 7 injectors working correctly and one of them just pumping fuel non-stop.
After you get this tune position/Mode part straightened out, go and take a look at your injectors.

Re: PROBLEMS TUNING 50LB MSD INJECTORS
The injectors aren't your problem, its your tune. MSD 50's are easy enough to tune, the T4MO on the other hand can be very tricky to get the idle and driving dialed in correctly.

I'm amazed you pass with the secondary HEGOs disabled. I know not all I/M monitors are applicable such as AC pressure & EGR monitoring, but I just assumed the secondary HEGO monitor would be required for all 96-newer vehicles to pass any state's OBD-II emission test since all 96-newer vehicles requ...

Re: Things to adjust in a tune before 1st crank
Here in TN, on OBDII cars, I just disable the secondary O2 all together. I zero out all of the rear O2 settings and they still pass emmissions. BUT... here they only check to see if your ECU has any codes stored. Any codes and you fail. So long as the CEL isn't lit up you're in the clear. Don't get ...

I always go ahead and turn adaptives off until I can get a handle on the tune after initial startup.
I would like to see Decipha's A9L tune. It sounds like he's got more things before start up than I do and it would be nice to have more help on that.

Re: MAF curve screwing with vacuum readings?
Vacuum should always decrease when you stab the throttle. You're eliminating the reason tha the vacuum is being created when you open the throttle blade. If you're seeing that, then I would suspect somehting wrong with your gauge. It should go from 17in to 0 when you do a quick stab.

Re: Why is my setup needing so much timing?
The F-cam is not the reason. I've run them many many times and there's nothing special about them. I would check the timing at a higher RPM to see if you have chain stretch or somehting effecting the timing at the plug. Pull the SPOUT, Set your timing light in place and rev the engine up to 5-6Krpm ...

Lines should go from the fuel pump to the fuel rails. Then to the inlet side of the regulator, then out of the regulator back to the tank.

You shouldn't peg it at that HP level. My own car has a LMAF 42# and S-trim making 480whp and I have some head room left in the meter. I'm using an AFM PP as well.

Moving EEC-V tune from QH to TwEECer?
Has anyone ever tried this before? I've written the tune(s) for the truck on the QH and I cannot transfer them over to the tweecer. Toggle to the tune position you desire in the hardware tab, then write the tune to the QH. Once that's done you should be able to toggle back and forth between mulitple tunes.

You can buy the POPSRACING strats through the Moates.net website. I think they are $200 for most strats. money WELL spent.
