Re: TPS - random increase at closed throttle idle
Just to update, pretty sure it's fixed. I replaced o-rings on the throttle body shaft because the ones in there weren't really sealing. Also 'tweaked' the TPS to it's max rotation to put a bit more "preload" on the sensor. I've been driving it for the last few weeks and haven't seen the TPS voltage ...

Dashpot = 0, Idle control remains -1 (dashpot) sometimes
I noticed that at times, when my car comes down to an idle, idle control stays at -1(dashpot control) even after dashpot has decayed to 0. Sometimes it'll come down to idle like it should, going into closed loop idle control as soon as dashpot hits 0. Other times, it'll start with closed loop idle, ...

TPS - random increase at closed throttle idle
89 Foxbody 5.0 Tweecer R/T Binary Editor A9S ECU (i.e. California A9L) I had an odd issue happen a couple times where my TPS voltage, under closed throttle, will increase slightly up to just above my part throttle threshold. This causes ECU to see part throttle and open the IAC to preposition, which...

(SOLVED) Innovate LC2 slow serial connection response
SOLVED (i think): I loaded Logworks to the newer laptop and it was updating like it should. Guessing my tooning laptop is just too slow. I tried a different USB port and it was still slow. Might be time to retire the 15yr old laptop. Gives me excuse to get something smaller and more portable. My old...

Re: At a loss
Sorry, wall of questions below.
When you say, 'it just goes lean' is that open loop, closed loop, both?
What do your O2 sensor show?
What's your MAF sensor voltage at idle?
Possible you have a massive vacuum leak that the MS compensated for?

Re: Shorten time to use FN1360 (Stabilized Fuel Table)
I tried the Z_TABOFT to ignore warm hego, but I didn't like that it immediate switched to the stabilized table at hot restart. Need a short amount of time for hot start enrichment, which uses the base fuel table. I did shorten the time for close loop warm and hot starts which seemed to help a bit. W...

Re: Shorten time to use FN1360 (Stabilized Fuel Table)
I'll try setting Z_TABOFT to ignore warm hego.
Function FN325 is for Stabilized Fuel Multiplier vs ECT.
I might also play with shortening closed loop delay.
Thanks for the input.

Re: Shorten time to use FN1360 (Stabilized Fuel Table)
Ah, the WRMEGO = 1 and Closed Loop requirement is probably what is causing the issue. It won't use FN1360 until it gets into closed loop, which defeats the purpose of what I'm trying to do. I'd like to stay in open loop until temps get closer to 180F since I have long tubes. (allow the O2's to get u...

Shorten time to use FN1360 (Stabilized Fuel Table)
EECIV A9S (California version of A9L) GUFA (I think) Tweecer w. BE. I want to try something out by transitioning to the stabilized fuel table (FN1360) sooner on cold/warm starts and using a function (I can’t remember the name) which is a multiplier vs. temp for the FN1360 table. Using the base fuel ...

FIGURED IT OUT- LTFT 'jumping' when AC kicks on/off
EDIT: I figured out what is causing the LTFT to jump. There's a scalar for Neutral with AC on for adaptive learning. So, sometime in the past, the ECU learned the higher fuel trim at idle with AC on. Now I need to figure out why. Getting back in to the summer tuning mode and was playing around with ...

Re: E303 injector timing
Yeah, the X3Z (93 Cobra) was one value across the whole table. Something like 280 or 300. I know for my car, low rpm, light throttle, the engine ran best when injector was done firing before intake valve opened. For the longest time (like 15 years), I had it set to start firing after exhaust valve c...

Re: E303 injector timing
I'll admit, I'm a bit skeptical and something doesn't add up for me. First post stated you had injector timing a 420 and it leaked fuel out the exhaust. Latest post says same injector timing doesn't cause fuel out exhaust. Also, I still can't see, with your mild cam, how injector timing can cause li...

Re: E303 injector timing
As JuiceSC said, injector timing by itself will not cause raw fuel out the exhaust. How long after running are you seeing the raw fuel out the tailpipes? You only have 5.5 degrees overlap at .050”, so not a ton, but not 0. Injector close timing of 420 is completing its injecting 57.5 degrees (if my ...

Well, unfortunately end of 'tuning season' was Saturday.
I put the car away for the winter.
I did take note of suggestions and will resume in the spring.

Re: Lean cool/warm idle, open loop, FN301?
This is in open loop. LAMBSE was commanding 14.1 because of the colder engine temp. When I adjusted the neutral multiplier, it was commanding low 13s, which resulted in low 14s AFR. Yes, when in closed loop, it's much better. It doesn't go into closed loop until engine is at 170F. This issue is most...

Re: Lean cool/warm idle, open loop, FN301?
@MrsJones - I've tweaked FN1306 to get better startup. The issue is that engine runs good at part throttle, AFR's good, but at idle it runs lean after it warms up for a bit. Once engine is hot, it's fine. @JuiceSC - That's a good question. I don't have stock O2's logged (limited bits). I will say th...

Re: Lean cool/warm idle, open loop, FN301?
Responding to my own post for what I found.
I changed FN301N and now my open loop idle afr is more reasonable (13.8-14.5) where it was closer to 16 before.
Still need to tweak it a little more, but moved in the right direction.

Lean cool/warm idle, open loop, FN301?
My car is running quite well after I figured a few issues with the tune. Now I'm trying to dial in open loop during cold starts and warmup. Hot idle (and most hot conditions for that matter) in closed loop is pretty well sorted. KAMRF is near 1 and LAMBSE around 14.7. What I'm struggling with is as ...

Woops, thanks for catching that, I corrected the post. I have read a few threads on the Pin 55 conversion and I'm not confident I could correctly make that mod without screwing something up. Re: A/C idle vs part throttle, IAC duty cycle
Dang, that sucks. This spring I set my cooling fans to be controlled by the ECU (Pin 41 mod). That only controls the high speed fan for coolant temp. I rigged a 2nd trigger to turn the fans on low anytime the AC is on. This isn't ideal because even driving down the highway, the low speed fans are on...

Frequency vs. voltage MAF sensor identification
Anyone know if there's an easy way to identify if a Ford MAF sensor is frequency or voltage return? The part number is 3L3A-12B579-BA When I look it up online, Ford Parts Giant site says it fits 2003-2019 vehicles. I'm working to gather parts to create a 4" MAF with Ford sensor and trying to figure ...

I can't answer all that, but if your long term corrections are within 1%, I'd say you are good. They will fluctuate a little all the time, but 1% is pretty well sorted if you ask me.

Re: Maf with Rich Idle and Lean Cruise
I've only used Binary Editor with my Tweecer R/T, so I cannot comment on the TunerPro part (or the K-factor). Your first changes would be loading the correct MAF transfer curve and injector parameters(slopes, breakpoint, startup pulse width and battery offset). If you have any smog stuff removed, tu...

Re: Maf with Rich Idle and Lean Cruise
If your regulator is leaking, change that first before spending money on injectors. You might not need them. Get a stock replacement fuel pressure regulator. Based on your combo, the 24's are probably at their limit at WOT, so if you do get new injectors just get the Deka 60s. They can drive like st...
