Any ideas? Can someone confirm looking at their own datalogs at wot if rpms are consistently increasing ?

EA rpm tracing glitch

Hello everyone, i have been logging for a while and I noticed something unusual in the logs. I noticed rpms are very erratic in the logs. Please see attached screen shot. Under wot, they do not have consistent increase, instead rpms log higher in one frame and drop lower the next frame, while there’...

Re: Engine cuts out at 5600rpms during wot

I have replacement Msd coil coming tomorrow. I have already replaced pip in distributor and it did not make a difference. Except it seems like isssue is getting worse and worse.

Re: Engine cuts out at 5600rpms during wot

Update: i went over all spark plugs, reduced plug gap from .048” to .038” to see if it makes a difference. Checked cap and rotor(everything is new with around 400kms run time). Went for a road test and within 5 mins of driving I noticed both stock tach and auto meter tach was bouncing while cruising...

Re: Engine cuts out at 5600rpms during wot

The rpm bouncing around that much leads me towards the PIP, but I know you said you replaced it. What is your tach doing when it "hits the wall?" Does it bounce around? Occasionally I did notice tach bouncing around 5000rpms so I put new pip(BWD brand). When it cuts out at 5600, I don’t notice it b...

Re: Engine cuts out at 5600rpms during wot

Does it rev beyond that if you aren't @ WOT? Usually if I hold the accelerator down, it would cut out around 5600rpms,then it would recover and go past 5600rpm all the way to 6000rpm(my rev limit). Almost like a big hiccup and then recovers. Also it rarely happens in second gear.. 3rd gear it happe...

Engine cuts out at 5600rpms during wot

Hello everyone, I have been fighting weird issue for the past few weeks and I am stumped. During wot engine pulls strong but at 5600rpms it cuts out, almost like it has hit some sorta rev limit. If I continue to hold the accelerator down, my shift light will come on(set to 6000rpms) and rpms will cl...

Re: BE error code: class not registered

Thanks for the help. I ended up emailing Clint and he responded right away and resolved the issue. Turns out I needed to download logworks. Couple of nights before, my laptop did some updates so I am assuming that's what caused my issue. I am still unable to log AFR in BE, but I will start a new thr...

BE error code: class not registered

hi everyone, I have recently purchased BE/EA(with tweecer and innovate). I have been slowly modifying my current tune(idle table to start for now until weather gets better). Yesterday however, when I turned on my laptop and started BE, I got this error code "Class not registered (Exception from HRES...

Re: Calcon and wideband AFR readings off by 2 points

Thanks for the info again.
I am using innovate lm1. It does have serial port as well as analog output port. which port would I need to use to connect it directly to BE? Wouldn't I need serial to USB adapter for that or there are other provisions in BE that I am not aware of?

Re: Calcon and wideband AFR readings off by 2 points

Thanks for the reply. I think it's about time I swap over to EA/BE. Could you/anyone tell me the procedure to get afr logged(with dataq194) if I were to go get EA(registered version)? Last thing I wanna deal with is afr readings issues after buying EA. Also, I checked out EA site and wanna know what...

Calcon and wideband AFR readings off by 2 points

Hello everyone. So finally I ended up installing my dataq 194 to log AFR in calcon. I got it all working but the problem is the readings in calcon log are off by 2 points(12.2:1 on innovate lm1 vs 14.5:1 in calcon). My question is- is there a transfer function in caledit or calcon where I can adjust...

Re: Tweecer timing issues at track

I think I am on to something even though I may not like it. Performed compression test and turns out two cylinders are at 130 and 170 psi. Rest 6 cylinders are at 185/190. Valves are adjusted properly. Need to do a leak down test tomorrow and hopefully it's just the valve issue, not the bottom end. ...

Re: Tweecer timing issues at track

It'd be interesting to see what your rpm drop is between shifts .... running the same mph would seem to point to converter or trans issues if it's something mechanical. Back of my mind I do have my concerns that it might be something to do with the trans/converter. Trans is lentec street fighter wi...

I have no idea what you just said or meant but 40 min of driving has nothing to do with wot spark, and the ecu has no way of reading actual spark advance only whats requested did you try pulling out more timing to see ? go pull out 15 degrees at wot and see if it makes a difference post back with w...

I would assume my spout connection m...

Tweecer timing issues at track

Hi everyone. I have been a long time lurker and usually get all my answers from searching this site. Couple of years ago I ended up switching to 408 stroker with built aod trans( old combo was 5.0 with turbo/5speed). I have my idle and part throttle tuning figured out. No driveability issues except ...

yes, from the research i have done, ppl have done this as they didnt have serial connection either.

Re: idle issues with 80mm c&l maf and 42 lb injectors.

You need to get your MAF correct before you start messing with the idle. The idle is based off the MAF for air and such, if the MAF is incorrect, then your idle settings and logs to change things by will be incorrect thus throwing the whole tune off. I have run down that path before and won't do it...

Re: anyone hooked up wideband through EGR with success?

Use BE for data logging and select lc1 in the hardware tab. Use the serial port for afr logging. This should be more accurate as it should not go into the analog world and then the offsets and transfer do not come into play. I had my lc1 connected to the egr but now have BE looking to the serial po...

Re: anyone hooked up wideband through EGR with success?

Sure. Mine works great.... but I am not using Innovative stuff. I am using a PLX unit. I dont have a reason to doubt the readings... they jive with both the narrow bands and my nose. All I did was hook up the wideband analog output to pin 27. Sounds like you have a voltage offset issue. No clue how...

Re: idle issues with 80mm c&l maf and 42 lb injectors.

You need to adjust throttle body airflow and set desired MAF airflow based on datalogs. The help files in EA and BE explain how to do this. Also, make your injector slopes, breakpoint, and voltage offsets are correct. The FRPP website has all these specs for the injectors. One other thing, setting ...
