Re: Still solving "rough" idle

...I like the idea of controlling how far the spark can actually jump around ... what table or scalar do I adjust for this for an A9P?... If using the open source GUF1 strat for BE, look for function(s) in the Idle group that also deal with Spark. I'm not at home to look into BE and give exact info...

Re: 2007 Ranger to 302 conversion

I'm pretty sure the Ford EECs will not work with LS1 coils Why not? I'm not doubting. I'm just asking what the problem is with attempting to do so. Impedance differences? LS1 coils have a built in ignitor and are fired by the PCM providing a positive voltage. Ford PCM ground the coils to fire them.

Re: 2007 Ranger to 302 conversion

I don't think a 2007 Mustang EEC will work with a 4R70W. A 2007 F150 or Crown Vic EEC would though. You will have to go to a COP ignition. No idea if the CAN bus will work.

IF you were happy with the way this tune ran and all you did was change the intake tract just adjust the MAF curve

Re: How was this tune scaled?

The purpose of scaling in this instance is to prevent you from hitting the hard airflow limit of the EEC which I'm pretty sure is 2350 kg/hr. I don't know the max airflow of your engine. If it is under 2350 then you would not have to scale.

Re: How was this tune scaled?

I have no idea how that is scaled. If it was me after looking at that tune I would just start with a fresh A9L tune add my maf and injector info and start tuning. I would probably scale everything in half so SARCHG is 204. Maf and injectors get cut in half as well as anything with airflow

You didn't say what tuning software you are using but if you are not using Binary Editor make sure there is a complete definition file available for your strategy before purchasing BE.

Re: Why does my Decel/dashpot/declutch idle fall below DSDRPM

Try increasing DASMIN. That is where dashpot decay will pause when you are above DASMPH. Once the vehicle speed goes below what DASMPH is set at the dashpot will start decaying again

I am using purple and brown wires from the left side of the box. I wonder if I should use the white wire to hook up to the distributor plug. Maybe the EEC cannot see the signal.
What wires do you have the MSD connected to?

Btw, if I want my engine to drop RPM slower in between my shifts I want LB/min on the right of the scalar less or higher? My RPMS fall like a rock and my shifts have to be very quick unlike my 2003 Cobra.
Lower numbers in the right column will cause the RPMs to drop slower

Do you have the 10 pin extension harnesses installed? I had a similar issue years ago. After I installed the extension harnesses the problem has never returned.

Re: Random IAC opening...Gremlin!!

Yes ratch is what the computer thinks is closed throttle voltage. What typically happens is the TPS voltage intermittently goes low from either a sensor or wiring issue and the computer thinks that low voltage reading is now closed throttle voltage. So now when the issue goes away and you are back a...

Re: Random IAC opening...Gremlin!!

I doubt it is in your tune. I know it's a pain but I would datalog TS, ISCFLG, TP, RATCH, ISCDTY, DSDRPM and DASPOT. What I think you will find is ratch drops below the normal TPS closed throttle value and you get stuck in dashpot mode.

Re: Diagnostic Correctness: Open Loop at Idle?

It is normal for the heavy duty trucks to run in open loop at idle. The oxygen sensor is mounted so far away from the engine, it will not stay warm enough at idle to function correctly. Canister purge at idle is probably normal. Your read out shows the map reading 10" of vacuum. This seems really lo...

Re: feedback spark a9l

I just looked at the hardware only tune and datalog. You are stuck in dashpot mode because idle air is not dialed in. You can either dial in the idle air tables or go with mechanical idle. https://www.efidynotuning.com/idleair.htm The datalog shows in gear at one point. Is this an auto or manual tra...

Re: DUMPING fuel in cylender #1 after injector install

USCAR and Jetronic refer to the style connector. Your truck and all the pushrod 5.0L Mustangs used the Jetronic style connector from the factory. EV1 refers to the fat style injectors again found on your truck and all pushrod 5.0L Mustangs. As far as I know all EV1 style injectors had Jetronic conne...

Will an A9L eec-iv work with a 1965 Mustang 5.0 efi/C4 auto swap? Yes it would work but you would likely need to get it tuned to work with an automatic. All the Foxbody V8 mass air EECs can be set up to work with a manual or automatic. The code is there in all of them just has to be turned on. None...
