Re: 460 Mass Air Binary Editor Questions

I downloaded CBAZA strategy and T4M0 bin from eecanalyzer.net. Looking at my datalog there is a column titled FLAGS1 and OLFLG. From what I've read FLAGS1 B2 is the indicator for Open/Closed loop, or is it actually OLFLG that indicates which loop it is in? Does my dashboard OL/CL light need to be s...

Re: 460 Mass Air Binary Editor Questions

2) I'm confused by all the idle scalars. For instance, what is "Max idle RPM at CT" doing? Shouldn't idle RPM be a single setting that the engine shoots for? I'm assuming "at CT" means at operating temperature, so startup RPM adder won't come into play. Does the computer act differently when it thi...

Re: What EEC supports MAF, EDIS, and E4OD?

There were a few vehicles that had TFI and a crank sensor. A 1996 Bronco 5.8L is an example. It had both TFI and a crank sensor but the crank sensor was just used as a misfire sensor to turn on the MIL. It had the four tooth crank wheel.

Re: Odd fuel imbalance (bank to bank) at 1600-1900rpm

I really don't see much in your datalog or tune. While there is an imbalance in that range it is only about 10% which really isn't that bad. The imbalance could possibly be from the scavenging of the X-pipe. I can't see it being a tune issue. I can't see 2 distributors doing the exact same thing. If...

Re: What would cause spark to not advance during low load cruise

I agree you are probably using idle spark while cruising. Try increasing the idle spark multipliers (fn841n,fn841d, fn839) closer to 1 to increase spark. You might also slot your TPS and adjust it to read a little higher at closed throttle. You are at .5 volts which is quite low. While technically t...

Re: Help with understanding fueling at different RPM's but same VMAF

if your fuel pressure is 39 with the vacuum line off and you have a vacuum referenced fuel pressure regulator there is no reason to use the multiplier because the pressure differential across the injector is still 39psi. With the injector firing into a vacuum we lower the fuel rail pressure to keep ...

Re: Boost Sensor for Tuning

You can wire in a GM 3 bar map sensor to the EVP to log boost. You have to disable EGR in the tune. This is just to let you log boost in your datalogs. The EEC is not capable of reading boost.

Your fueling is not dialed in. Also you are going into closed loop at 56* ECT. That is way too early in my opinion.

I don't plan on keeping them stock. I got a quote from Inejctorclinic.com for a set of 6 custom 445cc (45lb) injectors for $460. But I need to get the truck running again with the quarterhorse first. Don't tell anybody, but I'm also still using the stock exhaust manifolds too lol. btw... this truck...

Re: 2007 Ranger to 302 conversion

I'm pretty sure the Ford EECs will not work with LS1 coils Why not? I'm not doubting. I'm just asking what the problem is with attempting to do so. Impedance differences? LS1 coils have a built in ignitor and are fired by the PCM providing a positive voltage. Ford PCM ground the coils to fire them.

Re: 2007 Ranger to 302 conversion

I don't think a 2007 Mustang EEC will work with a 4R70W. A 2007 F150 or Crown Vic EEC would though. You will have to go to a COP ignition. No idea if the CAN bus will work.

Re: How was this tune scaled?

The purpose of scaling in this instance is to prevent you from hitting the hard airflow limit of the EEC which I'm pretty sure is 2350 kg/hr. I don't know the max airflow of your engine. If it is under 2350 then you would not have to scale.

Re: How was this tune scaled?

I have no idea how that is scaled. If it was me after looking at that tune I would just start with a fresh A9L tune add my maf and injector info and start tuning. I would probably scale everything in half so SARCHG is 204. Maf and injectors get cut in half as well as anything with airflow

Re: Why does my Decel/dashpot/declutch idle fall below DSDRPM

Try increasing DASMIN. That is where dashpot decay will pause when you are above DASMPH. Once the vehicle speed goes below what DASMPH is set at the dashpot will start decaying again

Yes ratch is what the computer thinks is closed throttle voltage. What typically happens is the TPS voltage intermittently goes low from either a sensor or wiring issue and the computer thinks that low voltage reading is now closed throttle voltage. So now when the issue goes away and you are back a...

Re: Random IAC opening...Gremlin!!

I doubt it is in your tune. I know it's a pain but I would datalog TS, ISCFLG, TP, RATCH, ISCDTY, DSDRPM and DASPOT. What I think you will find is ratch drops below the normal TPS closed throttle value and you get stuck in dashpot mode.

Re: Diagnostic Correctness: Open Loop at Idle?

It is normal for the heavy duty trucks to run in open loop at idle. The oxygen sensor is mounted so far away from the engine, it will not stay warm enough at idle to function correctly. Canister purge at idle is probably normal. Your read out shows the map reading 10" of vacuum. This seems really lo...
