Re: Getting Started

I'd ask that you not create a single thread to track the multiple questions you'll be having. Instead, create a new thread discussing each question separately so that a single thread isn't littered with responses associated with different questions. Having a new thread per question also allows the t...

Re: Converting BBF 460 to EDIS8 w/ A9L

I've got a question about batch-fire. I know the basic theory behind it that it fires all injectors associated to the bank together. However is the bank timed to a specific cylinder or is it timed to some other timer that's asynchronous with the engine RPM? It's also my assumption that synchronous f...

Re: Wideband in a really tiny exhaust? 4 wheeler

I'm trying to imagine how this could happen. When the engine behaviour and plugs are consistent, but the WB is reporting something else, that's just odd. So I'm beginning to think this isn't a physics or chemistry phenomenon. It leads me to wonder if there's some electrical issue involved. The funda...

Re: Start Up Circuit Issues

I think the problem is you are using a bin that is modified and has unknown (potential) hacks in it that make it not behave as a standard CBAZA-based tune would. Those hacks are not well known by anybody but decipha. There might be some people that have taken the time to learn them, but for the most...

To be blunt, you took some advice from someone that has somewhat outdated advice. The very first thread of this site's FAQ is entitled:

Re: Tweecer R/T will not datalog or accept changes

Not true. You have the EEC-IV MAF TFI "AHACB" ECUs used in the trucks in the 94-95 model year. In 1996 the trucks got OBD-2 EEC-V MAF+TFI setups. I didn't mean to hijack the thread, but are the AHACB & 96+ truck EECs 60 pin (i.e. can I reuse my wiring harness or would I have to upgrade the harness ...

My LC-1 is LSU4.2 only as far as I know. All the newer Innovate stuff is 4.2 or 4.9 capable and usually ships with a LSU4.9 sensor.

Re: Wideband controllers, the LSU 4.9, and quality vs value

It's an interesting redesign of the sensor. It doesn't require an atmospheric O2 reference. They figured out how to have it reference a production-calibrated resistor instead which improves the longevity and reliability of the sensor.

Re: Tweecer R/T will not datalog or accept changes

That, unfortunately, will hit me soon and in a very different way. My truck still uses a GUFx era EEC. I have 2 of them, the one in the truck and a spare. Both were probably manufactured in 88 for use in an 89 Mustang. It's a true testament to the quality of the components they put in those units th...

What I was trying to hint at is for you to remove "Need Help" from your title. You did improve it by making it a little more descriptive, but you left that in there. You are here asking a question, the fact that you are looking for assistance is self-evident and doesn't need to be stated in any thre...

You'd get more views of your thread if you gave it a title that described your problem. The current title is absolutely lame.

Re: Dyno Saturday! Number Guesses & Final Table Critique

How much difference in commanded spark do you intend to apply between 150 and 160?

Notice, your top 2 rows between 150 and 200 are identical. So if you set the top row to 150, you'd get identical behavior to what you have right now.

Re: Dyno Saturday! Number Guesses & Final Table Critique

If you know your boost tops out at 150, then I'd make the top row 150. Otherwise you are loosing resolution...basically wasting the top row of the table that will never be referenced. Even if actual load goes to ~155, the EEC will just use whatever's defined for the 150 row. And since there is no ot...

Regardless of whether he needs to do this or not, I think it's an interesting question. I too have wondered how I might bench-power an EEC if I ever needed to. To date, I've never needed to but I have to admit, it'd be nice to know how if the occasion ever were to arise.

Re: fn1306/Fuel Start-up OL affect fueling of F3 Switching Tunes

Where I had to use ferrite beads was with the wires I ran from the QH to the switch that controlled which tune was active. The noise wasn't coming from the USB cable. Add to that, my QH's USB cable already had ferrite beads on it because it was a very old cable. BTW, I read an article talking about ...

Re: WOT Lean at elevation.

From a purely theoretical standpoint, the MAF measures the mass of air, not CFM, so changes in density due to elevation should be accounted for as thinner air is less-mass and would be seen as a lower Load percentage at WOT than at sealevel since less mass is coming in. But this hints to my point. I...

intake? cam? heads? Otherwise all stock? What are the injectors and MAF you are using? Can you tell us any more about the running condition that causes lean at alt? Such as what the WOT Load is at alt vs what the WOT Load is at Sealevel? The other difference that is easily ignored is the fuel. For e...

Re: Tuning for long tube headers

The heaters should be all the sensor's need. I routinely can turn my ignition ON, but not crank the truck. Wait for a minute or so before cranking...and when I do crank, the HEGOs are immediately active. So while O2 sensors getting cold might've been a problem for early and mid 80s era single-wire O...

Re: Nitrous Ignition Timing

I think Decipha's A9L2 for BE + QuarterHorse has some hacked added on code for nitrous support. I could be wrong though. Just out of curiosity, was it opt-into code that can be turned off via a scalar like the FN1360 hack? Or was it modified and no way to opt out if you use his BIN as a starting po...

Re: Speed density Ford truck tuners...

I thought there was a template definition file that you could use for doing this. It basically has no scalars, functions, or tables to throw errors. It just declares the bank-count and has present the XLS tabs BE is looking for. And from there, it allows BE to read/write whatever you load as long as...

Re: A9L Vs A9P Neutral Sensing Strategy differences

Paying someone that's already made the investment into the chip-burning stuff would be cheaper. I don't know how much they cost as I've never bought a chip. I treat the QH as my chip which isn't the safest thing given their track record of burning up coin-cells. However the latest hardware design of...

Re: kg/hr for healthy 5.0

Like Lead says, it's not the efficiency. What is happening, even though the MAFV's are the same at different rpm's, the result is that the injector pulsewidth HAVE to be different. Think about it, same MAF means same amount of air. If you have the same amount of air, what else do you need? Same amo...

..Seeing how you have a distributor, I assume you went with a eec-iv instead of the explorer puter? Being the truck is 89, it was simply more compatible with an 89-93 Mustang setup. Add to that, back when that decision was made, I was not into tuning. I went into the project with a stock Explorer 5...

Re: A9L Vs A9P Neutral Sensing Strategy differences

The other option you have is pay someone to just burn you a chip that'll do that. Moates chips can run an A9L on an A9P just like the QH can.
