Re: EA and BE license conflict?
I don't know how the dongles are supposed to work, but I would've expected you to have 1 dongle that unlocks both if you have a license for both. But I also get how if you bought them separately how you might have 2 dongles. But I wouldn't be surprised if it is a bug in the software that assumes the...

Re: Can I clone/copy a EEC-IV eeProm 87C66
It is technically possible to get a read of the original ROM you removed. But it'd probably be far easier, depending on your intentions, to look for a *.bin file of the original tune by searching for it via its catch code.

Re: Erratic MAF counts
I'm curious to hear what others say. I think this has come up before, but I don't recall the cause. It's helpful knowing that it happens with two different MAFs. But that only reduces the chance it's specific to the MAF. I'm suspecting it has something to do with a value in the tune that's misconfig...

Re: 90mm Lightning MAF, how far off can the transfer function be?
The LMAF has a known issue with blow-thru applications. It doesn't work well in that configuration. However from what I understand, it works just fine in a draw-thru configuration, on both boosted and turbo applications. MAFs work by measuring the temperature of a heated-wire as the airflow blows ac...

Very nice find. That's a setting I'm not familiar with at all. However reading more about it, it makes sense why it was added to Windows. What doesn't make sense is why they don't make it more obvious when this setting is what's causing older drivers to not function correctly. I'm sure that's probab...

When I was in that phase of my tuning, I disabled Adaptive Learning altogether so they stayed at 1.00. Having them not adjusting let me see the LAMBSE error thoughout my logs. Re: KAMRF not clearing
First off confirm this is a GUFx era EEC. It shouldn't matter, but its worth at least confirming what you are working with...and going over some basics that most of us would likely assume is true, but again is worth confirming. For example, when you flip to these tunes, is the ignition switch ON? AS...

Re: RPMs jump in datalog under WOT
So the HSI does capture the time of the event, thus my explanation of the jitter as described above might not actually hold water unless the HSI, itself, is subject to this jitter when interrupts come in fast. As a dedicated "High Speed Input" co-processor, it'd be a pretty lousy one if it was vulne...

Re: RPMs jump in datalog under WOT
I think there's 2 different issues that you are noticing. Lets start with the duplicate values. The way datalogging works is the datalogging device (QH or TwEECer) collects values from the EEC by sniffing the MBus for writes to specific memory addresses and records those values in its own RAM. This ...

Re: '97 Cobra Bank 2 Running Rich
If all plugs on the same bank are fouled, then this has to be something affecting the entire bank. The only thing I can think of that could do that is a bad HEGO value. Unplug that bank's HEGO, let the EEC "fail" that HEGO and see if the engine controls fine off the working bank's HEGO. If it does, ...

Yeah I was under the impression this was a "build" not putting back what was there. Like I said, I wasn't familiar with your strat and tune.
But now knowing you are working with SD and an otherwise stock engine, I'm with JSA, start looking for typical problems like vacuum leaks.

Re: 1995 F53 EFI 460 running rich.
There's a number of things that will cause over-fuel. If this is 1st crank with this setup, it's not surprising it's going to take some tweaking to get it to run. Unless you are a seasoned tuner that's tuned using your exact MAF and Injectors and thus has high confidence in the numbers entered, it's...

Re: A9L pin 49 HEGO ground
Unless you just already have 4-wire sensors, I'd say stick with 3-wire sensors just to keep things simple. But if you have 4-wires and just need them to work, then you have choices. The first one being tie the sensor ground wires together and tie it to that HEGO ground pin on the EEC. The other opti...

That's interesting information. I don't know that I would've predicted that. I vaguely recall a thread or two from the past suggesting that boosted applications don't like platinum-tipped plugs. And while I found it surprising at the time, I guess it does kinda make sense given CAT converters also t...

Re: Fuel Pressure Dip
The fact that you mention the EEC's ability to control fuel pumps indicates you are not dealing with an older EEC. With older EECs, I would expect the fuel pressure to rise and drop along with manifold pressure, since that's the point of the fuel pressure regulator. However with the newer return-les...

I used TP back before BE existed. And back when the choice was TP or CalEdit for bin-editing, there was no question that TP was the better choice. It simply exposed more aspects of the tune, had correct conversions for things, and was open so when errors were found, it could be fixed by individuals/...

Check your Startup Fuel Row Scaling Function (FN018) and see what kind of times you have in there. Startup fuel enrichment should (technically) end about 45 seconds after startup, but is there any chance your tune has it increased to something near 165? And even with this function being altered, usu...

Re: Hot Startup the car runs lean for a couple minutes...
This is a left-field suggestion that likely isn't the cause, but it's an idea that I had. But my idea is that the Canister Purge valve control is responsible for dumping a bunch of lean air into the system. On both my old 2.9L V6 and the V8, the canister purge air is not going through the MAF. In GU...
