Re: Moates Quarterhorse BE Questions

There's probably a few reasons why that might happen and those reasons might be different based on the strategy you are running too, so if you could, update your profile signature to detail out what strategy and EEC catch code you are running. It would also help if you could post up a datalog of it ...

Re: EEC Analyzer Unregistered

The only thing I can think of is that the version of EA is not up to date and the license is for a newer version. But if you are a new customer, it isn't likely you would have an old installer. Clint should be contacting you fairly soon and help you get it sorted out. I'm sure it's something simple....

Re: Moates Quarterhorse BE Questions

When you have the ability to make changes to the tune, there's no requirement that the MAF be "calibrated" to a specific size injector. What matters most is that the MAF and injectors are correctly sized to the capacity of the engine they will be used with. Regardless of whether the MAF and injector...

I'm not sure I caught a question in all that. But just looking over your signature, here are my thoughts... Take a stock A9L (or similar GUFB bin) and update it with the following: Update CID (SARCHG in GUFB) Update the MAF curve with whatever MAF you are using Update the Injector Slope/Breakpoint s...

Yeah I know the Classifieds section is not really useful. I don't monitor it, I don't even attempt to keep it clear of spam. At one point, I was using it as a "honey pot" to see if the bots that post spam would just use it instead of posting to the other forums. But no, they post wherever they can a...

If you were looking for a drop-in tune to just work, then yeah it sounds like what you got isn't fitting the bill. However that doesn't mean the entire tune is invalid. Many of the changes made might be absolutely the right thing. It's just a matter of finding out what changes made are NOT working w...

Re: Tune issue with tweecer

You didn't mention if the engine runs the same with the stock tune in the TwEECer vs the EEC with no tuning device. If those are the same, then you can trust that the TwEECer is serving the stock tune correctly and you thus have identical behavior between the EEC using its internal ROM vs using the ...

I didn't know there were videos at all. Re: Making a minimalist EEC-IV harness

The motivation here is intriguing and confusing at the same time. This person is interested in shaving weight so badly that they are seriously looking to reduce a few ounces of copper and plastic, but they are still using an EEC-IV to control the engine which is likely of the same era? Is this just ...

I've been watching a lot of Youtube/Tiktok videos about Mechanics and how they diagnose issues with modern day vehicles. My guess is the most official information is going to be both in the helpfiles of BE (and EA). That software should be available on the original developer's site.

Moates did not develop that software. They were just linking to it since it worked so well with their hardware.

I'm using the free A9L that came with BE (.BIN) but I'm wondering if there's a reason to use the A9L out of the Core Tuning database (.BEB)? This may be outdated information, but it's my understanding that the only reason Adam @ Core Tuning remade the GUFx defs into licensable BEB files is because ...

On MAF-based EECs, like the GUFx EECs, the BARO sensor appears to be the same exact sensor used as a MAP sensor on Ford SD-vehicles. Or maybe they are just shaped the same and have the same connector? I don't know. Point being if you setup the tune to ALWAYS use Sealevel tables, then you can connect...

On manual cars, the EEC usually monitors both NSS on the clutch pedal and transmission neutral switch. One or the other have to indicate neutral. If you only wire to the NSS, then it is possible the trans could be in neutral, but your foot not pushing the clutch in and the result would be the EEC be...

I understand Moates using the chip shortage as an opportunity to retire. And if he didn't trust any one...

I don't know of some programmatic way of converting SCT tunes to bins, however I have heard that SCT chips were readable by Moates chip-readers and that's how they were "converting" SCT tunes to bins by simply reading the tune out. As for Diablo frg formats, unless those chips are also readable via ...
