Re: Anybody know of any ACTUAL LED Fog Lights?

A bit pricey? I'm looking for something in the $30-60 range. Rigids usually don't start until well over $150 a set and the "true" LED fog lights are $250+...that's too rich for my blood. I'll stick with Halogens until something better comes along. And someone will make something more affordable. It'...

Re: Getting additional parameters added to BE

If the definition has the 'PCMType' configuration option set to 'EEC_216K' (which it should be for OMAE*) and the 'EEC' configuration option set to 'True' then 0x13A6E is the address to use (assuming it is the correct address for the SCB_N parameter). But if 'EEC' configuration option is set to 'Fa...

Re: Trouble setting idle on 408 build

You are correct that if pressure is holding, even for a short period, this would eliminate the likeliness that a valve is being held open...whether the issue be too long of a pushrod, more shims needed to lift the rocker higher, or bent valve. Although I suspect there are plenty of other valve-relat...

Re: Trouble setting idle on 408 build

On startup, all injectors fire in batch mode. The system transitions to sefi once the engine starts and the number 1 cylinder has fired. At least that's my recollection.

Re: Trouble setting idle on 408 build

That may be another problem to look into. But even if it is, that MAF voltage should bounce around especially with the engine actually running. You had the exact same values repeating throughout the running part of your logs. Even with a perfectly stable engine idle, the MAF will not hold a fixed va...

Re: Trouble setting idle on 408 build

Looking at the datalog, you have a bad MAF signal. The MAF value should be bouncing all over in tandem with your RPM, but it is the same value throughout the log once the engine turns over and gets running. Both logs show the same problem. Figure out what's going on with your MAF signal. Either bad ...

Re: newby here cant find strategies on BE should I swap EEC?

Also note that with the Quarterhorse, you are no longer locked into the GUFA strategy. You could use GUFB if you wanted. GUF1, GUFA, and GUFB are exceptionally similar with GUFB having more features added to it than the previous 2. There are some addon features that have been taken from GURE to enha...

Re: Trouble setting idle on 408 build

First off, idle set screw should have enough control over airflow to get you an idle well over 1000RPMs. If you can't get the idle above 450, something is bad wrong. Start at the most basic stuff. Confirm your spark plug wires on the distributor are wired for the right firing order for your cam. The...

I haven't followed what updates and features MegaSquirt has been doing. However I have to assume they have kept up with technology. With development platforms like the Beagleboard/bone and Raspberry Pi, I'm actually amazed there aren't more open source efforts out there. As for Holley, I am VERY imp...

GitHub / OpenEEC-Project / Strategy-Documents / GUFB.pdf

The Tech Docs link is also updated to use this link as well.

Re: CZAW0 Strategy File needed (TunerPro RT)

This is where I'd run the datalog through EEC Analyzer to determine what is awry. There are multiple things that affect fuel delivery, you've identified the big ones...the MAF curve & Injector parameters. EA has the ability to analyze both. I've got a tech doc that talks about how I used EA to adjus...

Re: CZAW0 Strategy File needed (TunerPro RT)

It is a little bizarre and not exactly straight forward. I'll see if I can detail out the steps. Open EA and click the MAF Tab. For the MAF1 column, click the combobox at the top-left and select "Custom". This will set all Voltage/Flow cells to 0.000. Now enter your 9pt MAF curve in the MAF1 columns...

Re: CZAW0 Strategy File needed (TunerPro RT)

With that, I was able to fairly quickly enter your 9 points ( red ) into EA and convert it to 30 ( green ). Here's what it looks like: MAF_Curve_7vs30.png Notice on that flat area where the 30pt has MULTIPLE points representing. Here's the equivalent 30pt curve in TEXT for easier copy/paste: 4.950 1...

Re: CZAW0 Strategy File needed (TunerPro RT)

I looked at EEC Analyzer over lunch, and it's the MAF Fitting Tool that I think converts "smaller" point count MAFs to larger point counts. It MIGHT actually work unlicensed. It's worth a try. If not, you can still use unlicensed EA to enter your 7pt curve and eye-ball yourself a 30pt curve.

Re: CZAW0 Strategy File needed (TunerPro RT)

There's a whole discussion about why you don't want to use something as small as a 7pt curve. It's fine for you to only have 7 measured points. But you'll want to extract that out to more than 7pts. To illustrate the problem, here's an exaggeration using only 3 points on some random curve: curve_3pt...

Re: Changing spark table input from load to %load

I don't know that anybody has found basing timing on Load% valuable. I personally don't find basing fuel on Load% valuable which is why I simplify my tune to make Load%=Load. Although I'm sure there are some people that do. I suspect the benefit is more for people that tune more than just one vehicl...

If it is common for moisture to get into those connectors based on where it is located, you'll want to fill the connector with dielectric grease to keep water and air off the connectors. Otherwise it'll just do this again in a few months. Don't be afraid to be completely messy with it. The more you ...

Re: Erratic MAF and load

The only blip that I see in the MAF is right around 585. There's a SHARP increase in MAF that does not correspond with the TPS that I can't explain. Assuming that is an erroneous, I would've expected that to create a HUGE rich-mix condition, likely enough to cause hesitation. Looking at the WB, it d...

Re: Erratic MAF and load

That info, by itself, isn't as useful as if you could plot that same info along with TPS. Being able to see a stable TPS along with dipping MAF might be more significant. Assuming you had a relatively stable throttle position and you were getting these dips, that would suggest some kind of bad conne...
