Re: RAAD4 EGR switch
You can disable the EGR in RAAD4 by setting the PFEHP scalar to '2'.

Re: Ecu interchangeability
Not fully installing the ECU to test it is fine as long as you are not putting any strain on the wires by having it dangling from the harness.

Make sure the file name is BE_Install.exe when you save it.

Re: Binary Editor display of pulse width value
It depends on what value is being displayed. For your CBAZA strategy ECU the 'Injector Pulsewidth' times (aka 'fuelpw1' or 'fuelpw2') do not include the 'Injector Pulsewidth Offset' (aka 'pwoff') time.

Re: Ecu interchangeability
The TIP1 ECU (SMD-221 hardware) is not suitable for swapping with a HUG0 ECU (SMD-219 hardware) as they use different transmissions. As a general guide you can use any ECU with the same hardware code but you may require a chip or reflashing to have the correct calibration if the one in the replaceme...

The amount of spam is getting ridiculous and needs addressing. Maybe a change of how to sign up as a member is required and some aggressive blocking of IP ranges used by the spammers.
Re: Eec swap
Completely different ECU's. The COW1 is for a mass air equipped engine (EFI-MA46G hardware) but the FUN1 is for a speed density engine (EFI-SD47A hardware).

Re: 7015FB inside the SFI-MA12 and other EECIVs
I think all the eec's have HLOS so they can run, albeit rather badly, as a limp home mode. I don't know much about it but it wouldn't surprise me if the injectors defaulted to batch firing and spark timing possibly only changing with RPM. The cooling fan defaults to being on. HLOS is for both softwa...

HLOS = Hardware Limited Operating Strategy
You will find a little on it in the eec-iv 'Custom Integrated Circuits - Architecture and Hardware Reference' manual, mostly in regard to the DUCE chip.

The mtssdk.ocx file can be registered using the 'regsvr32' tool in a command prompt window in administrator mode. Give the full path of the mtssdk.ocx file in double quotation marks, e.g.
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\BinaryEditor2012\mtssdk.ocx"
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\BinaryEditor2012\mtssdk.ocx"

Re: Spark torque limiting + Borderline Spark issues - guidance?
Setting the 'Torque Limit for Gears' (aka FNTQ_MAX) values to their maximum should eliminate torque truncation. The returned value is checked against the calculated transmission input shaft torque with the 'Torque Truncation Flag' (aka FLG_TQ_TRUN) only getting set if the returned value is less than...

It is probably one of the LHBL* family of strategies. If you provide the binary file someone may be able to identify which one.

Re: EEC-IV advice required. Based UK V8 speed density(MAP) 302
Any chance of some photographs of the inside of the ECU? I am curious if there are any modifications to indicate why that Taurus/Sable sticker is on there.
How are the injectors wired up to the ECU; i.e. individually or as a pair of banks?

Re: Z_AFR changing (RESOLVED)
In my opinion this is not resolved. If you are having to enter the air fuel ratio manually instead of the drop down options it defeats the purpose of using a switch for a parameter. The fudged 'solution' shows that my guess was correct that the problem lies with the definition.

Re: Help with injector math on a A9l
I tried to change the FN367 at the 12.000 volt point. This point lists the MSEC at 0.7188. I edited this to 0.730, hit enter and instantly returned to the previous 0.7188 setting. What you are seeing is normal behaviour, BE is rounding due to the limitation of the resolution and conversion of the v...

Re: Z_AFR changing
My guess is that the problem lies with the definition. The parameter is defined with the 'units' as a 'switch' and the 'equation' is normally set to 'X' for these instances but for some reason the 'Z_AFR' scalar is the only switch parameter that does not have this as the equation in the definition.

Re: Can I clone/copy a EEC-IV eeProm 87C66
I am only aware of two people who have reprogrammed an eec-iv EPROM and AFAIK neither have been active in the eec tuning field for many years. The issue is not so much the programming hardware but the software to deal with the multiplexed address and databus these EPROMs use.

Re: Anybody have details about the XDT2 EEC?
I unfortunately do not, the 'catch' code list I have is very spotty on the last of the eec-v. I am not even sure the 200k memory made it into a production vehicle as I've only seen reference made to it in conjunction with development tools.

Re: Anybody have details about the XDT2 EEC?
OK, a bit more information on the eec-v EEPROMs:
The 56K, 88K, 112K, 200K and 216K EEC variants use 87F66/88FF80/88F112 and later derivative EEPROMs (not sure why the 88F80 is given as '80' at the end instead of '88' unless it's a typo).
The 220K EEC uses a AMD-29F040 EEPROM.

It can do either; a multiplier of less than 1 reduces the equilibrium fuel transfer rate for transient fuel compensation value, a multiplier greater than 1 increases it.

Re: Ect sensors, are they all the same?
The 'ECT/ACT Transfer' (aka FN703A) function is in there but if you wish to use an ECT sensor with a different curve you will need to change the ACT sensor too as the share this function.
