Re: Lean cruise (MFA) (MPG) mode not switching on sometimes
I don't know if AU is the same, but I have read that EL needs the power steering pressure switch to be working properly to enable MFA.

Re: CMPB question.
O.K I had to think about that for a few minutes.
So in the example above:
6e9e: b3,73,3d,01,42 the 3d,01 is 2 bytes this makes it UNSIGNED and
6ecb: b3,72,48,42 the 48 is 1 byte making it SIGNED.
Or am I way off track.
Thanks.

Ok thanks. Yes it is A9L. I have come across something else that I can't work out. Using these register bases: rbase 72 180 rbase 74 27e rbase 76 37a rbase 78 8eda At these locations: 6e9e: I see [R72+13d] if I do the calculation 180+13d I get 2bd this is fine. 6ecb: I see [R72+48] if I do the calcu...

Hi, I am trying to work out how the code below points to an address. I thought I worked this out a few years ago, but have spent a few hours and can't work it out. I guess that is what happens when you leave things for a while. Below is a bit of the code from tvrfan I am looking at. I am trying to w...

I would post the doc here, but it's not even close to ready for public consumption. There's way too much speculation and assumption being made right now. But if individuals are interested in reading it over, I'd be glad to email it out. PM me with contact details. I would like to read your thoughts...

Re: Moates -- No Longer Selling Hardware
I see all the support literature has gone from the site as well! They could have at least given some warning so we could have made copies of documentation that is needed to use some of this stuff. They could also have passed the documentation on to sites like this, so the people who have supported ...

Re: Looking for DOL in Gufb for tripcomputer
Yeah I did test it out and the A9L is putting an output on pin 34, but it did not appear to be right.
I was going to look into it a bit more but have not had time.
Looks like f4ll3n has already worked it out.

Re: Looking for DOL in Gufb for tripcomputer
Hi Mate, I thought the GUFB tune ran the trip computer, when loaded into a EB ecu. My brother has an XF Fairmont Ghia with NC Fairlane 5.0, and I had a GUFB/A9L running in it for a while when I was testing some things , and I was sure the trip computer worked. I will have a look at swapping the A9L ...

Hi,
Thanks it makes some sense, but what changes Ra0 from 0 to 1?
I am using SAD 0.2, by the looks, I thought it was 3.08, I will look into it again.
Thanks.

Hi, I have a very limited knowledge of what is going on with the the disassembly code I have made using tvrfan's SAD. I have played around with arduino's a bit, but I am no expert. I am an Electrician, and spent most of my time with relay logic systems. I have been looking at a disassembly I have he...

Re: Rich on Decel
Just for kicks you should be able to load the GUFB A9L on the QH and see if it behaves the same. I am just wanting to rule out an error in the definition file or corrupted tune... This will not work on the EEC he is using. It will only work on EB/ED EEC IV not EF/EL EECV, I have tried it before. It...

Re: Australian EEC strategies working in US software & hardware
You have a few options for data logging with an EB EEC using a QH, but you will need to spend some money for one of them. 1: Message Derek Fenwick (sailorbob on here) to see if he has a Binary Editor strategy file for that EEC, it is closely related to GUFB and the hardware is almost identical to a ...

Re: Anybody ever used a Ford EEC with a CNG/LPG system?
I tried to set this up on mine a couple of weeks ago. The injectors (Matrix 334) I got will not run off the EEC5 with resistors, they will not even open with any resistor the line when connected direct to a 12v battery, I tried a few different values from 10-4ohm, they will hold with the resistors, ...

Re: Anybody ever used a Ford EEC with a CNG/LPG system?
Did you end up getting this up and running? I am looking at doing this using LPG. I have a 6 cylinder on injected gas at the moment it is using a gas computer to run the gas injectors, after getting a signal from the EEC petrol injector outputs. I am converting over to a 5.0, and I have a gas system...

I tested it yesterday, and it all works fine. The speedo is out compared to the cars dash speedo, but the cars speedo is out to a GPS, the BE speedo seems to read a lot closer to the GPS. I will need to do something about the car speedo, It has always been out, and changing drive gears has made no c...

Re: A9L Fan control
Yeah mate they are from a GURE EEC, I had a GURE (C0S) and GUFB (A9L) side by side when I compared them, I have a bit more to add about a few other thing missing from the GUFBs, but the above is what is related to the chip. I spent about 4 hours tracing all the connections to that chip, but found a ...

Dereck I had a bit more of a look after you mentioned the diode, and it probably should have it, also there is a capacitor on the back of the board that wont hurt to be fitted as well. It looks like the main purpose for this chip is for the Cruise control on the GUREs, but it also does the low fan c...

O.K. I did a bit of playing around with this again today, I had compared GUFB and GURE EECs before to see what was missing for the fan control. Go into XDF.
Then go down to XDF Header Editor.
And check that the:
Bin Size (Hex) = E000.
Base Offset = 2000 and the subtract box is ticked.
See if that helps.
