Re: AFR richening massively letting off throttle
The closed throttle decel backfires are most likely DFSO activating which is normal since you are seeing 22.4 AFR during these conditions. As far as the super rich afr you are reporting, im just taking a wild guess not knowing what tuning changes have been made but maybe the car is going into open l...

Re: Free A9L that came with BE vs. Core Tuning A9L (and using a token)
If you are using Binary Editor, I dont see any reason to purchase a GUFB/A9L strategy/.bin. The current GUFx strats like GUF1 and GUFB and bins are currently updated, well supported and the best out there in my opinion. They are updated and maintained by CGREY8 and Clint. I personally use GUF1-A9P o...

Re: EEC-IV Crashes at high rpm
What kind/year ecu, engine, o2 and trans harness are you using? Ive seen people try to use an a9l (5 speed) strategy on an a9p (auto) and immediately burns the tracer on the ecm for pin 46.

Re: Tough to start
Sorry about the delay, I finally got the new fuel pump installed and it fixed the no start issue. car starts right up now like it used to. The fuel pump I removed was an FORD fuel pump, not sure if it was the original but I guess that was the problem. Glad I also replaced my BBK fuel pressure regul...

Re: Tough to start
Doubt its the ecm unless a cap or trace has been compromised. I would test the fuel pressure first with a better quality guage at the schrader valve which will tell you if there's an issue with the existing guage or fuel delivery. I would recommend a stock or kurban adjustable fuel pressure regulato...

Re: Tough to start
1st key on should spike 40 and drop a few pounds but hold. If your fuel pressure is 0 I would question the bbk regulator as they are known to be problematic especially with their internal diaphragm and leaking fuel into the vacuum line. If you still have the stock regulator, try reinstalling that 1s...

Re: Tough to start
What kind of fuel pump, injectors and regulator are you using? Have you verified fuel pressure is holding after the first key on? I would check that to make sure its not bleeding off or that an injector isnt hanging open. Try turning the key on and off 3 times before starting cold.

I forgot to ask..try to datalog the cold start for 2 minutes. I tried opening your other logs but the files were too large to download. 2 minutes will be enough.

Its recommended to set base timing to 10 btdc. Is it only hard to start cold or all operating temps?

Re: Tough to start
ok, so making progress. dont change anything and try this tune. Same tune with a little more fuel added at cold start up. Let me know if this makes cold start better or worse. Is it hard to start at all temps or just at cold start? No need to do or worry about anything else for now until the hard st...

Re: Tough to start
do you still have the smog pump and smog equipment on the car? if not then you need to disable it in the tune. Your air fuel ratio is set for c16..... set it back to gasoline or e-10. do you still have the evap canoster installed? if not that needs to be disabled. Your idle values are still set to 6...

Re: Tough to start
What size injectors do you have? You're tps at 1.08 at idle raises a flag to me. What rpm does your car idle at? Legend and lore recommend tps to be set at 0.98-0.99 koeo. I personally set mine around .90 depending on my idle rpm setting and highest vac. reading. I would also verify whether pin 46 i...

Re: Tough to start
It may have fried the trace on the a9p board since that ecm applies 12 + to pin 46 which as an a9l is a sensor ground. Im not saying it is fried but there is a chance of damage to that trace...maybe...maybe not. The hard start could be something as too much or too little fuel enrichment at initial c...

Re: Tough to start
You may experience an issue writing an a9l tune onto an a9p ecm if the o2 harness has not been changed or repinned which would cause the internal signal ground trace for pin 46 to burn on the board.

You can also set HCAMSW to Restricted. Make sure to clear the KAMRFS prior to making either change(s).

Moates Out of Business
No its not a joke. For those that don't know Moates decided to close the doors and shut the business down. Very sad to see. With that being said; what do we do now and which direction to go. What's everyone's thoughts?

If decipha has everything for free, feel free to hit him up for what you need. Assuming you have a quarterhorse, have you tried installing it on your mach 1 ecm and try reading the rune off the ecm?

Thats definitely a solid approach. I had to reduce the sensitivity on mine in low load accelerating conditions because i noticed it was pulling 9 degrees just pulling off from a stop light.

Have you found more success reducing the knock sensor sensitivity or reducing the timing retard associated with the sensors?
