ECU Probes, Software and Decompilers?
Now I don't know if this is old news or if anyone's posted it earlier, imagine someone has and that I just missed it/couldn't find it. Anyways, I found a couple website that ate European based that peaked my interest and I want to know if this is something worthwhile/should look into more or not; an...

Re: Cold sstart issues EECV
Sounds like a IAC, Load, Spark issue. When you change major intake parts, odds are you'll have to retune the IAC. The surging is generally a sign of either a weak IAC or that it is 'clipping', which is to say the DC isn't matching the voltage and airflow desired. The IAC also plays a major roll in c...

Re: Locked timing
I disagree.
If you're not breaking parts, you're not going fast enough
If you're not running locked timing, you're going too slow
Correlation?

Re: Pro-M or lightning?
If a shop can't tune for a cam, they ain't much of a shop. There's a ton of V-8 stuff out there to build off of and many value files to help along the way. If they've done any Ford work it shouldn't be that dificult to get a decent base tune up and running in an hour or so. Fine tuning takes longer,...

Re: Can't get stable idle. 02 lightning twin turbo
Can you adjust anything in the tune?
What does a log tell you?
what's spark source, fuel source, throttle mode and the typical idle values?
If it's not entering an idle mode, fixing that is step 1.

Re: How much should an IAC flow when closed?
My best guess is that at warm idle the valve is designed to be open slightly based on stock airflow requirements. We can assume that a zero point shouldn't be closed since that will stall the engine out, no air. So it'd make sense that full closed isn't possible. One thing I'm curious on though is t...

Re: Engine will not warm up..
^This guy. CW v CCW, think about how the belt is routed ... The wrong pump with the wrong rotation, that is CCW spinning CW, will reduce flow. It won't cavitation and it won't force flow in the opposite direction. It'll merely splash water around and not near the correct volume. Basic mechanics 101:...

Re: TPS, anyone using a Dodge one in a SN Mustang?
In theory, yes. In design, no. I found out that I can't use the Dodge ones. The tab spacing is too narrow, ever so slightly. I have a list of about 8 other Ford ones that I have to go through and find one with the correct clocking. Mustang 3.8's of various years: http://www.rockauto.com/getimage/get...

TPS, anyone using a Dodge one in a SN Mustang?
This guy's crazy, right. But no I'm not. My TPS is very tight and the connector hits my intake, which hits my hood. So when I close the hood there's pressure. This has taken some toll on the sensor and it's now reading skewed. The Dodge Caravan with the 2.4 has a, according to pictures, similar TPS ...

Re: Swapping a 4cylinder ECU for a V8 one?
This is a bit of a tangent to the original question, but on those dual plug 2.3Ls, do those plugs fire at the same time or is there a slightly different timing given to one plug relative to the other? IIRC, there is a timing difference. There was talk years back on one of the turboford related site...

Re: High compression engines and stock starters
Just because I was curious, RockAuto says that the Explorer unit is a 1.4kw gear reduction unit. The Mustang one is a 1kw unit with no gear reduction. What that means, the Explorer unit is actually an upgrade over stock and a higher TQ starter. Kinda interesting. I will second the advice on cable si...

Re: Swapping a 4cylinder ECU for a V8 one?
So I didn't get a chance to do anything on this since I'd first posted. I should have been looking for an ECU but I wasn't, I'm not sure what ones to look for. So I'm asking for more help. I want an EEC-V V-8 ECU that is well supported by both BE/EE and SCT and is well documented (in posts most like...

See I'd read about this 'feed forward' stuff. Thing is none of it shows up for my car: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/iminhell/fuelpumppids.png It could be that it's just not complete for my car/s (because the fuel pump options are the same for both). I know this isn't the designed usage but, SCT's LiveLink Gen II will do all the hard work for you. Best part is you don't need any SCT hardware to use it. It will open ANY .CSV file. I've found a couple posts elsewhere from guys who thought they knew what a clock tic was, no proof though. But everything I've found seems to point to it varying, maybe based on processor speed. Just curious if anyone here has a formula or even an idea of what it could be? Reason I ask is with the S...

SCT got it back for him. I don't understand how really. And they don't understand what went wrong. Apparently the tune we were trying to put on the truck was for a 7.3. Which makes no sense at all. So that would be JayBird, correct?
I'm doubting anyone local has one but I'll check just in case.
It the VID necessary?
It just stores/locks the VIN, tire revs (or in his case N/V) and ?, correct?
TY for the .bin. I'll try and get somewhere with it.

So I've been helping a buddy tune his truck, PRP & X3. It's a '97 F150 with a modified Lightning swap. Box code of DJJ3. Most everythings been going well apart from his X3 not being able to log. SO we flash with his X3 and log with my X2. Cumbersome but works. So tonight we're flashing and it stops ...

Curious if I need a CPS for CFSO?
I have changed a couple things in my tune but I can not get it to cut fuel when it should. But this is only on the second start after I reflash.
I do not have my Cam Position Sensor hooked up ATM. Which is the only explanation I can come up with.
?

I know I was supposed to tune this long ago, but I didn't. Actually I've been driving almost a year without touching it. Might sound like an odd question but hear me out, If we're modifying code to fit our needs, the majority of the site is modifying similar vehicles (Mustangs by the majority, I'm an exception), the pinouts are the same for all EEC-IV's & EEC-V's (the difference is in what pins go used/unused), sensor...

Granted my experiences are rookie at best and my weather conditions vary greatly vs you in Florida but, I haven't noticed any issues from about 40*F and up. Swapping a 4cylinder ECU for a V8 one?
I'm just curious, with a bit of work obviously, if this could be a 'hack' method for getting half-assed sequential fuel injection (vs batch fire)? Is a, let' s say EEC-V Mustang, V8 Batches of 2 injectors ... so 4 drivers on 2 banks? ^If so I'm thinking I can just ignore the wiring for 4 of them, th...
