Re: 408W - CL @idle leans out and runs bad - O2s stay at .8v
Thanks Decipha, much obliged. Well, turns out that both O2s were bad (I just replaced them and tested again - CL is working like a champ now). The car sat for a long time and my guess is that at some point that fuel went bad and that ruined the sensors. That is about the only thing that I can think ...

408W - CL @idle leans out and runs bad - O2s stay at .8v
Hi guys, I am hoping that someone can help me troubleshoot a closed loop problem. I am currently running OL at idle without issues and the car runs good and is actually driveable, but as soon as I enable CL lambse goes full lean (19) and the car runs poorly. I have also noticed that the O2s never ge...

Re: Tuning turbo 5.0 with sct tuner
Hi Vinnie, I believe that MAF is going to be too small for your combo. Check out the following info on that MAF, the claim there is that it will support up to 275HP. http://binary.uta.edu/EEC/MAF.conversion/MAF_Transfer_function.html You definately do not want to peg or max out the meter. Also, you ...

Re: Injector timing for a big cam
thats not uncommon with large primaries, shoot for 19 or so at idle, a vac gauge is your friend, if you can verify stoich with the hegos thats what i try to do whenever possible if the idle fuel ring is dark at the tip of the threads then yank some fuel out and make her happy Thanks Decipha. Injector timing for a big cam
hello, Can someone please provide a bit of guidance on setting injector timing for a cam with lots of overlap? I am running an A9L with a Tweecer and BE. I have adjusted the MAF, injector slopes and displacement on my 408W. The engine idles at 800rpm and KAMRF is close to 1.000. The Wide band reads ...

Hi Guys, I just pulled the trigger on BE, totally given up on CalEdit but I am going to stick with the Tweecer RT hardware for now. Is there anyone out there with a 408W and a cam similar to mine that can share their tune with me? I would like to take a look at what has been changed to compensate fo...

Thanks cgray8.
I will pull down BE and check it out. I'll also read the faq on the hardware differences and may end up having to get the QH.
Regards,
Rick

Re: Getting back into tuning, experts please help - long
Thanks for the reply guys.
Is the Caledit software really that far behind and really innacurate? Also, is the Tweecer inferior hardware? Can you guys please provide some specifics on why?
Thanks,
Rick

Re: Getting back into tuning, experts please help - long
the stock a9l was never dialed in from the factory so don't expect it to be where it should be kam's maxed doesn't sound right though, you say you added 15%, stock slopes are 19/26 or something so you ended up with the slopes at 16/24 ?? did you verify the maf transfer was stock? no vac leaks or an...

Hello guys, I decided to keep the mustang and have recently built a new 410W for it. Since I have been away from Tweecing for quite a while, I decided to start from scratch and have ran into a few issues that I need help with. Here is the new configuration. Engine 410W 10.2:1 compression Trickflow T...

Gawd.... DO NOT do this..... Sure it increases flow.... its the OLD trick that people did to turn 30's into 42's, 36's into 72's and crown vic injectors into 36's.... Except, the spray pattern goes for shit. We had some on the flow bench, and what a mess. There is a reason we use EFI, and having sp...

FMS 42# injector mod to flow 60#
Hi Guys, I just finished modifying my 42# green tops to flow approx. 60#. The mod is not extremely difficult to do. You just need some cutters (if it goes smoothly (remove the restrictor with a single cut). If not, you will also need a file, safety pin, and a sharp punch and a lot of patience :) Her...

Wow. This worked really well for me. 9psi powerdyne, on 42 injectors, 77mm Pro-M Bullet. I have a X3Z original computer. I've always had problems getting it to tune right. I've been using A9L (non-X3Z) tunes and have gotten close with the help of folks here. So I ran across this post and figured I'...

Cougar 5.0, Answer me this. Does the Tweecer overide the maf sensor calibration that is within the sensor itself. Um, people think! The MAF voltage will top out (5V) at about 900 kg/hr!! His supercharged engine will easily hit 1500 kg/hr (probably much more)!! He has to get a recalibrated meter bec...

Rick, Any particular reason you did not use EA for the injector timing? Tony Hi Tony, How does EA calculate the new injector timing settings? Re: Which Pro-M should I get? Calibrated for what?
I plan to get a Pro-M meter. Should I get one calibrated for my #30 injectors? Should I get one calibrated for supercharger since I plan to go there later, or is that something that can be adjusted with the Tweecer later? My setup is in my signature. I do have a granatelli that I´m NOT satisfied wi...

Rick Firing the injectors is correct if your cam has no overlap. The larger the overlap the more of a chance the fuel will go out the exhaust. The injector timing has two objectives. One to cool down the engine and get better fuel atomization by spraying the back of a hot closed intake valve. The f...

Re: Injector Timing How to -A9L
For example – Enter 320 where you currently have 352 So your saying we should lower the #'s "not raise them" when using a larger then stock cam ? Basically, the smaller number is earlier in the intake cycle. A larger number is later in the intake cycle. If your cam has more duration than the stock ...
