Re: quarterhorse life span
Bottom line, any possible side effects of the QH having a battery instead of flash memory, IMO are dwarfed by the flexibility and power that it brings to the table compared to any other EEC-IV tuning solution. So if the battery wearing out and leaving the car disabled is of concern, tune the car, w...

Re: quarterhorse life span
Is not common that people left the car a few month in the garage
, if the Qh battery is an issue just simply remove it, and install a connector for a laptop Bios battery. Is just an idea.

Re: quarterhorse life span
I´m agree with you Dale  , and the QH battery is not a problem, a good example is the Bios Battery in computer motherboards, they last very long time, the QH battery can be changed easily, it doesn´t need a professional to do it. At least is very easy for me, I´ve been repairing cellphones ...

I´ve heard that high impedance injectors are needed, if they are not you can use a resistor pack.

Re: Re-flashing EEC-V Computers
Greetings. I've been getting mixed info relative to this topic and would like the straight scoop. I'm currently using a 1997 EEC-V ML1-441-type PCM from a F350 7.5L MAF California emission rig with E4OD. My drivetrain is an EFI converted FE engine coupled to a C6 trans which only has a P/N switch w...

Re: Turbo Tuning Tips
I have no clue, but I do know they are quite popular on performance diesel applications. Diesel tuning uses EGT sensors almost like we use Wideband sensors. Since diesels aspirate as much air as they can all the time, AFR is hardly a concern for them. What is a concern is exhaust temps. I would sta...

Re: Turbo Tuning Tips
I don't know that there is a single value that is THE perfect AFR for all NA engines. I think this is really a question that is answered on a case-by-case basis with a dyno. Where some engines may perform better at 12:1, others may perform better at 13:1. But I think the sweet spot is usually ~12.5...

Re: Help with SCT products, understanding how do they work
Whenever you flash a vehicle with the programmer it locks itself to that vehicles vin until you do two things. One, you must reload the factory tune into the eec, which was stored on the programmer when you loaded the performance tune. Two, you must hook the programmer up to your computer and hit t...

And, which one is the better way to run larger injectors? Buying a calibrated maf for it? Or changing the injector size in the tune? I've been reading about this and I think. The correct option would be the second one, but I'm just a beginner, so I need and expert opinion, cause I'm planning to buy ...
