Re: Im having a small issue with a strategy file.
I think there is some confusion going on here. Maybe on my part. When you download a so called tune to the Quarterhorse you are downloading the Calibration and the Strategy. You have to keep the strategy with the given calibration. You CAN NOT mix match them. If you are using an A9L calibrations for...

Re: Im having a small issue with a strategy file.
Agreed, keep the calibration with the correct strategy. GUFB - A9L GUFA - 8LD You can load a GUFB strategy with an A9L into BE and write that to a quarterhorse in the PCM that is labeled 8LD and vise versa. Just be careful on swapping PCMs from automatics and manuals. It will fry the PCM traces if t...

Re: Auto Detecting Strategies
Sorry for the extremely late response. The last digit on the strategy is usually the version of that strategy. CTAF5 is version 5. Ford must have a reason that they went from version 2 all the way to 5. Most of the time it is updates to the emissions stuff but not always. If you find that BE did not...

Re: "Writing back to Binary Editor from the QH"
When using BEB files they are locked to a VIN and strategy. Once you consume a token the BEB is marked and saved. You will notice the tune name in the status bar will change to a green color indicating it is tokened. If you try to read back a tune from a vehicle while you have the tokened BEB open t...

Re: Enabling wideband monitoring in BE 5.931
Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. I had a lot of people asking for unit conversions and custom TAGs. The goal was to come up with a way to allow users to create custom TAGs, plus be easy to use and flexible all at the same time. This feature in BE is now called UDT (user Defined Tags). Ri...

Re: mtssdk.ocx failed to register
sailorbob is correct. To give a little background on this error. This OCX is an active X component that is used by Innovate Motorsports for their wide bands. If BE has a license for the Innovate hardware then it will look for the OCX file. If it is missing then you get the error. I will try to make ...

Re: New laptop corrupts the Tune
Is this on a chip or a QH. If i recall correctly the chips reserve the VID block and do not allow writing to that memory range. No EEC4 had a VID block but the chip has to be able to be versatile enough to work on single bank and 2 bank and 4 bank tunes. I believe Craig Moates reserved this area so ...

Re: Moates Out of Business
Chris you hit it on the head. My 2013 F150 has 23 modules that are one of two CAN networks. My 24 Ranger Raptor most likely has way more modules. Ford uses a two network not only for the reasons that you spoke of but for security reasons. The MS-CAN which is the multimedia CAN. It has the navigation...

I need to look at the code but it maybe coded to work with those version only. The model numbers maybe hard coded in the software.
I will see about getting my hands on one of the DI-2108.
Wow the price sure has increased...

Hello Everyone This past week my web server went down. This was all due to the web hosting company not supporting the older versions of PHP. This was all because of the security vulnerability. Re: Moates Out of Business
It is sad to hear about the Moates QH and F3 chips. It is a big hit to the industry. It goes to show you how good the hardware really is. I wish the best for the Moates Camp... Core Tuning still has a limited supply of QH. These reaming QHs can only be purchased with a QH package. As for the TwEECer...

The Zeirtonix uses the 4.2 on the older units with the yellow LED. The newer units with the green LED use the 4.9 sensor.
here is some good info on the sensors

Re: "IPSIBR" Idle Air Integrator Strang Values
IPSIBR is learned trim for the Idle air over time. Yes, it is like instantaneous corrections but the PID loop parameters associated with it make it react pretty slow. It is makes it react more like a long term fuel trims and not a short term. This IPSIBR is then store in the ISCKAM cells depending o...

Looks like the column needs to be set to True or False not 1 and 0. If you look at the scalars, functions and tables they all have true, false. I will look in the code to see if I can make both work. When the data Comes into BE it comes in as a integer if the column is 0 and 1. If it is true and fal...

Re: Considering upgrading from Innovate LC-1 to LC-2
I have this in BE already. There is a AEM license which brings this serial data into the datalog. I have not looked at it in a few years. I personally do not use any Innovate WBs any longer. When they switched to the MTXL plus line of controllers things when south. The hardware scans data faster but...

Re: California to make EEC retuning illegal
I never brought nuclear up just because of the shere scare factor people have of it. When I was in the navy it was the best thing for power and quite and so on. Makes me curious if these reactors can be made small enough to be put into a car. The power a car consumes is so small in the big picture. ...

Well said Chris. California is making leaps and bounds on the charging stations. I see them poping up everywhere. Re: California to make EEC retuning illegal
I agree with Chris. The options are out there right now and that is what makes our society thrive (CNG, PPG, EV, Hybrid, Gas, Ethanol). When the government comes in and removes options for the sake of a non proven theory then it is wrong. They think going electric is saving the environment when in f...

Re: California to make EEC retuning illegal
I live in California and I am so fed up with all of this emission crap. I have a 67 Mustang with a 428CJ and it is running a 98 explorer PCM. It runs cleaner then any 67 ever did. I did not have to do it this way but I did. Not all of us remove emissions. It has its place but to have the government ...
