Re: MAF quit reading above 3.4v
OK, first i want to thank all that have attempted to help with this problem. After a LOT of hours and several buckets of $$, I found the problem. It appears that I had a new set of Mallory Pro ceramic end plug wires that broke down and allowed RF noise into the ECU somehow. It would be criminal not ...

Re: MAF quit reading above 3.4v
Ed I have no idea how to convert the tune
Indy, you are correct, I am set up a bit rich at idle. It seems to like it. I can set it for any AFR/Lambda I desire. I am doing the tuning.

Re: MAF quit reading above 3.4v
No hose between air filter and turbo inlet. I use a big 8X12" round dry flow pleated , mounted in the right fender. Gotta use a lift to get to it LOL That old SVO would fall on its face and you could lift the throttle just a bit and it would pick back up then do it all over again, you could keep doi...

Re: MAF quit reading above 3.4v
No argument to your logic, I was thinking a broke valve spring But can find no evidence upon inspection. Originally I thought the ignition, every piece of that has been changed, everything . I am now focusing on voltage drop at high RPM's. Alt has been swapped,,No change . still looking and thinking...

Re: MAF quit reading above 3.4v
u bet I will pull one tomorrow as I dial it in. Damnest thing is it got worse, dropped to 2.8 volts on Maf then showed a decent duty on the inj. my WB had been showing dead lean and no amount of fuel helped, it never detonated , I figured it was shutting fuel off. I pulled that one data log and it n...

Re: MAF quit reading above 3.4v
Well in the for what its worth,,,I posted that Data log. It showed Inj duty( less than 99%), that was the first one that did. The car responded rather violently , some detonation, that was a first. any way, I studied it some and determined it was NOW pig rich in most of the UPPER rpm's. At first I t...

Re: MAF quit reading above 3.4v
Oh one other thing, when things went south I was running a chip that I burned. I found years ago that the QH seemed to be finicky. Of course i am using the QH now to figure this out.
I really do appreciate yall's input.

Re: MAF quit reading above 3.4v
attached is a data log this is my most recent, its a little diff from the older ones in that it does Not show 99% inj duty. I will say that the onset is becoming sooner , and voltage is lower at onset. I just don't understand whats changed . Map represents boost in this file. the TP data logs with t...

Re: MAF quit reading above 3.4v
I intend to follow up, I have been working on this for over a month. Your thoughts are well founded. I am completely befuddled at this point, ANY thought are welcome. Years ago I had an 84 SVO, completely diff inj system (bosh I believe) it did something similar, as per driving problem, and I never ...

Re: MAF quit reading above 3.4v
I would not disagree about the tune,.I have made that mistake .
What gets me is I made no changes in a very long time. Also I have dropped in many old tunes and it does the same thing,
also, I have done the Read Ford check and all is good. ?????

MAF quit reading above 3.4v
Ok , I have had this tune for a long time, lately it started going lean , per the WB, and it will not pull over 3.5 volts on the MAF. I use a Quarter horse. It does not detonate, just falls on its face and stutters . When this happens the Load max out (1.99) and the inj duty maxs out at 99%. Fuel pr...

Re: CBAZ0 - AFR good in drive but too lean in neutral
I have a similar problem that I have NEVER been able to trace down, mine is a CBAZA also. Mine appears to go VERY lean at idle after an 45-60 min run time . I have changed ecu's , fuel system and on and on.
under load all seems OK. but will sometimes get so lean as to miss.
cold start and run is rich.

Re: slot Maf difference
wow, you are good and you cut to the chase..THX, and yeah that explanation makes sense. As you can tell i am NOT electronics smart , but i can follow a good rational discussion. the large tube setups will work on a draw thru and can normally be used . but blow thru's are a whole nother problem. i ha...

OK i get the air flow velocity thing in tube size, but thats not always practical, and i get that altering the window opening could effect same. but the resistor change,,,,,could it be added into a pigtail at the connection??

slot Maf difference
I am working om a new turbo project and will be needing a slot maf for a blow thru. shopping around i find that Hitachi appears to be a main manufacture for stock units with pricing of $30-60. I have used an HPX , $200+. unit in past setups and am now wondering where the HUGE price diff comes from a...

Re: 86 to 96 conversion pinout
the advantage is
better faster processor, on board data logging , and a future of unlimited upgrades, simple programmer hook ups, ( no flakey QH and chips), and its 10 years tech-know newer. in will be MAF of course and that opens lots of doors over SD

86 to 96 conversion pinout
I am doing a 1986 mustang to 1996 f150 pcm conversion. this i know has been done many times and i have a few questions about.
such as, is it necessary to provide power to all pins in the 96 pcm ? how about all grounds? does the pin (#49 listed as CKP ) same as PIP?
any words of wisdom please???

Re: New fuel system+problems
sorry no picts. but its pretty simple. the Glenns in tank pickup uses a -10 suction and a -8 return that goes right too the bottom of the tank. they are tack welded together for rigidity. I cut the weld and used a 1/2" bender to curve the tube up 90 degrees. had to trim about 1" off to get it back t...

Re: New fuel system+problems
this is for anybody that may encounter the problems i have had, I never found ANYBODY that could tell me a fix. It now seems that I have things under control. as most know the mustang's have a box in the tank that helps control slosh. the return goes back to this box either above the tank floor seve...

Add on Traction control??
I have been researching traction control systems and seem to be coming up short. are there any systems that will control wheel spin without breaking a turbo motor? It appeared the Racelogic system would be the ticket but they no longer sell them, and no reason why. Seems that reading the ABS wheel s...

New fuel system+problems
this is an addition to an old thread i started concerning fuel delivery problems. I have recently replaced the stock system ( w/ aeromotive 340 intank pump). i was having bad low speed / cruise AF problems . WOT was fine. it started when outside temps were 80+ and driving 20-30min. I decided the sol...
