Re: CZAW0 Strategy File needed (TunerPro RT)
What is hard to use? TunerPro is baffling to me, but that's just because I haven't spent any time with it. BE is pretty straight forward if you spend a few minutes tinkering around. For the most part there's only like 4 different buttons total you need to click on to do everything you need to do in ...

You will have to put the drive scaler back, and then adjust the shift tables to speeds you feel are appropriate.

Re: Colder spark plugs for GT40p heads
I looked at a bunch of different pictures of spark plugs, and it appears that the thread starts are pretty random.
I know it used to be (or still is?) an old racer's trick to have different thickness washers to put under a spark plug to get the electrode in an optimal position.

So without being "that guy", what happened to everyone? I took a few year hiatus from EEC tuning because life got in the way, but it now appears the EEC Tuning community is nearly dead? Even decipha's forum appears to be a ghost town (along with most of the content from years ago that seems to be mi...

Re: Craia GEAR CHANGE
Well what do you mean by shift point issue? If you correct the ratio in the computer, it's going to try and shift at the same speed it did before, resulting in very high engine RPM before shifting gears.
If you don't correct anything, it's going to short shift. What is yours doing?

Re: Any possible way to disable transmission torque limiting?
Sailorbob/Derek helped us out a lot today. He clarified how FNTQ_MAX works, and that setting it to "1020", even though just a few lb-ft higher than the stock values would actually disable. He also broke out a lot of other torque converter control logic functions that should really help us get the tr...

That adapter will not work.
Code 21 (ECT out of range) is normal if the engine is not warmed up, same with 51. Code 55 indicates low power problems, specifically Pin 5.
More than likely your PCM has leaking capacitors.

Any possible way to disable transmission torque limiting?
So the strategy we're using (AHACB from Sailorbob) has a transmission torque limiting table (FNTQ_MAX), that has been causing us some grief. The issue is the maximum value is "1020" lb-ft (which seems oddly arbitrary to me). That is transmission input torque, which is after torque converter multipli...

Re: Boost Timing Retard
Great! We'll have to look into that. Is there any indication just from dyno that you might be sneaking up on knock before it occurs? Like a tapering off of "HP gained per * of advance" or changes in EGT? Something else I noticed odd is that from the factory, this EEC has PERLOAD = LOAD. Do any other...

Re: Boost Timing Retard
Knock box? The ECU we're using actual does support a knock sensor, but the 460 doesn't have one. I know it's not quite as simple as just getting a 302 knock sensor, since they're tuned to the specific engine. Plus, the knock control logic in the strategy (at least what has been broken out) seems rea...

Re: 351 E4OD EEC IV QH tuning
What are you using for a MAF? If you're using the original MAF that is matched to the computer you got if from, the MAF transfer should NOT change much if at all. I'm not sure what the difference between the AHACB and AHACA strategies are, but if they're on the same hardware, you should just be able...

Re: Boost Timing Retard
We have logged ACT under boost, and it's a little difficult to notice any real trends though. Even though it's a truck, 16 PSI through a very mild 460 (dyno'd around 350 crank hp N/A, stock is 240) makes it get up to speed very quickly. So it's never in boost for longer than maybe 8 second before yo...

Re: Boost Timing Retard
We left the stock 5.0 ACT retard tables in place. This strategy (AHACB) uses FN2230 (Spark Borderline Adder for ACT table) x the FN725A (Spark Borderline ACT Multiplier). FN2230 is a table with LOAD x RPM, with multipliers in each cell. That result gets multiplied by FN725A which is just an ACT vs. ...

Helping a friend tune his truck. It's a built EFI 460 with a very mild cam, forged rods, pistons, head studs, etc... It's been converted to mass-air using a '95 F-150 5.0 AHACB (HOG1) computer. He will run it up to 16 PSI, but 8-10 PSI for "normal" every day situations. Truck will always have 91 pre...

You'd have to redo the VE table at the minimum. You don't need to use an SD computer though. You could use a standard A9L or whatever. Just set it up for 6 cylinder use.

Re: 460 Mass Air Conversion Way1, VEX1, HOG0
Firing order doesn't matter, since you can just change it in software. The "F5" in the part number indicates a '95 date, which would have the correct diodes in the PCM. We're using a HOG1 in a 460 E4OD maf conversion without issue.

Re: Fuel pump prime time pid?
Basically the EEC-IV hardware is configured so the fuel pump control circuits by default are activated. Once the processor finishes initializing, the fuel pump turns off. You'd have to hack in some code to keep the pump priming. Why is your regulator bleeding down? It should be able to hold pressure...

Re: Halp! EEC IV CEL Flash that makes NO SENSE
Flickering light = bad PCM or intermittent power/ground/short to the PCM essentially causing rapid resets. Since you have tried multiple PCMs, it's a power issue.
The PCM relay and socket is a very common issue on these era vehicles.

Are you sure it's not valve float? Just stab the throttle in neutral/park and see when it cuts. No need to do a pull under load.
