Re: DIY Injector Flow Bench

No, I haven't had much of a chance to work on the hardware. But i have been working on splitting the code to have a python front end that will send the parameters to the backend code that's in the arduino. That way it is cross platform and could be run from a raspberry pi for a compact all in one so...

Re: basket case dropped on my lap

Core Tuning shows the GGL2 as CDAN3, not CDAN4. I also did not see GGL2 listed in the Ford Stratagies listing that i have, but 96 Mustangs are CDAN3. One reprieve is that the hardware code is the same from what i can tell, so reflashing it or installing a chip with one of the CDAN4 bins would be you...

Re: sn95 5.0 falling on its face

You would be better off getting a quarterhorse from moates.net and tunerpro so you can tune it yourself. There is a very steep learning curve, but there are a ton of knowledgeable people on here that are more than willing to help you out. There is also a wealth of knowledge over at efidynotuning.com...

Re: sn95 5.0 falling on its face

Everything I posted about will cause your setup to run less than optimal. The problem with sct in this generation of processors is sct has no logging ability, so sct and the tuners just throw templates that sort of get them the results they want. When something doesn't go right they have no way to i...

I hope to god you didnt pay for that tune. There is so much wrong with it its not funny. I only looked at a few key areas, but things that caught my eye... MAF transfer corrupted at the upper value. borderline spark table scaled to account for boost but the spark values are just copied in all of the...

Re: how do i set up megalog viewer with binary editor ?

There is a bunch I've been able to do with this that I must be missing where it's at in be or EA. Scatter plots and custom math functions are the two big ones for me. EA won't be replaced any time soon, i use it to augment my data analysis with more abilities.

Re: how do i set up megalog viewer with binary editor ?

The HD version is intended and has it listed in the supported versions of log files. I have it and use it from time to time. Nothing to really setup, just open your log file and play around with comparing different things I. The histogram or the table. You can do some pretty advanced math functions ...

Re: what is this chip?

I believe it was a loophole that is being exploited. Something about having to be stock in appearance or something like that. It's been years since I was told about them. Can't remember the exact rule that was being worked around.

Re: what is this chip?

It's not an official product moates sells, but he developed that device for certain racing classes that banned external chips or chips that plug in. So by replacing the internal rom chip with your tune it would be possible to pass tech inspection. It's supposed to be able to be programmed while it's...

I'd be interested in the model. There are a few different case designs that I've seen for the ecus but the same piece should be able to be tweaked to fit them all.

Re: DIY Injector Flow Bench

Have you considered something like an IRLB3034? We use them in airsoft applications (DC brushed motor, imagine the electrical noise) due to their high current capacity and "low" RDSon. They also have a cast-in TVS circuit, though its small. Also, I may adapt this to my Mega2560, if it has the timer...

Re: DIY Injector Flow Bench

here is the part number for the FET PSMN022-30PL i just had a bunch of these laying around. They are far from ideal with a relatively high RDS on resistance, but are still a good MOSFET for the price per unit. I attached a basic schematic of how i have it wired currently. The pull down resistor is a...

Re: DIY Injector Flow Bench

I say simulate RPM only because it's easier to understand by most to say RPM than some arbitrary frequency. I'll show it in more detail in a video, but the frequency and pulse width are all calculated and displayed on the control interface so you still have all of your information. Right now I can s...

DIY Injector Flow Bench

Hello, For the last few years i have been frustrated with most injector companies only giving static flow instead of full injector calibration data. Now i do know that for most, its workable. But if your like me, it is going to drive you up the wall when your trying to dial in the MAF and your injec...

Re: Fuel pressure on an 04 Crown Vic Turbo

If that's the case you might want to think about getting a more comprehensive tuning platform. There are a few options you have. You can get binary editor and the database from core tuning, you will either need a obd2 flash cable or a quarterhorse, they sell a complete package for a fairly reasonabl...

Re: Fuel pressure on an 04 Crown Vic Turbo

I've never used the sniper tuning software, so i dont know what all is available for you to edit. Did you input all of your injector data? There should be a total of 8 parameters to update when you change injectors. High slope, low slope, breakpoint, minimum pulse width, battery offset, deltap high ...

Re: Fuel pressure on an 04 Crown Vic Turbo

Without knowing what mods you have done, and what changes to the tune, it could be something simple. The newer eec-v ecus use deltap functions to adjust injector flow settings based on fuel pressure. So assuming your injector data is correct for any new injectors you may have installed, or your usin...

Re: Tuning Marine Ford 351W GT40

More than likely the ecu is drawing more power than your USB can deliver. That would explain why it won't register until it's barely connected to the ecu. It's always a good idea to power the ecu externally so you can make sure you get a clean read. Powering externally will also eliminate issues wit...

Re: MPG MODE F350 V10 sct pro racer thoughts needed

Sct is displaying the fuel slopes in lbs/sec instead of the more common lbs/hr. Divide the slope values i posted above by 3600 and you will see they are essentially the same. The battery offset is the same from what I can tell, so i do not believe there is much issue with your injector values.

Re: Tuning Marine Ford 351W GT40

Interesting read. Only quickly went through it, but it appears that they are getting away with using a 4 cylinder ecu by using batch fire. The harness on the engine side appears to be a standard v8 harness with individual wiring for each injector, but the ecu side of the harness is where they tied t...

Re: Battery disconnect - Taylor 1033

I've installed a similar battery disconnect before and it was the excite wire that was supposed to be connected to the output. The reason for this is even if the battery gets disconnected, the alternator can self excite and keep the engine running. By disconnecting the excite wire going into the alt...

Re: Tuning Marine Ford 351W GT40

What I find the most odd is the hardware code is used in this instance on a v8, but the same hardware code is also used on 4 cylinder mustangs and only those. I was under the impression that the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder ecus lacked the outputs to run a v8. I see two possibilities for this. First, t...

Re: Tuning Marine Ford 351W GT40

If you can take a picture of your current ecu tag on the connector that will let us know what calibration it is and what hardware revision it is. That will help us to identify a direct drop in or one as close as possible. I personally would be interested in seeing what is different about the bin if ...
