Re: Logging ethanol content

Jsa, .....your post reaffirms my thoughts. If it's not street driven vehicle as it seems mine must be the only one that is .....then you are turning for power to begin with and likely the highest octane rating available to you. You are also not likely to rely on any sort of automatic adjustment for ...

Re: Logging ethanol content

I'm not able to wrap mind around the usefulness of this on an average street vehicle. I'm not saying it's not there....only I dont see it. If your constantly changing fuel and need fast correction ....maybe. Your ECU already compensates. If your running 5% ethonol, the ECU will need to command aroun...

Re: LAMBSE 1 & 2 Going Lean in CL

"Lambse is telling you your too rich." - This is why I'm asking, explicitly, when I look at the Lambse value in CalCon, is this what the ECU is commanding? I'm not sure why this is called "Lambse" and not "fuel target," so I want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. And the ECU will chang...

Re: LAMBSE 1 & 2 Going Lean in CL

Lol, ya that little bit of info helps. There is a startup fuel table but I don't believe you will need touch it. Lambse is telling you your too rich. Try leaning out the bottom of the MAF a little. You should be around 20 kg/hr if you are at a stock RPM of 672. It's also possible if you are able to ...

Re: LAMBSE 1 & 2 Going Lean in CL

Tell us what calibration and car your working on. I'm going guess it's of the GUFx variety. First off the engine will always start up in openloop and if still equipped with the air pump, should read lean on the wideband for what seems like forever. I believe what your seeing is the transition to clo...

SOLVED Re: EA Slope Calculation Offset Input Option

Update.... SOLVED ......Found purely by accident, the AFR/LAMBDA input box in the BFSC section of the Fuel Delivery Tab, directly effects Slope calculations. Therefore, the offset option is already included. I was able to set the AFR to represent my error, in my case 14.85. Now I get useful calculat...

Re: EA Slope Calculation Offset Input Option

Thanks Chris, that tidbit on Z_AFR is helpful. Boy 550 idle, ya that will swing your voltage around. I'm sure that big alternator is also creating alot drag down that low. I'm running the stock 65a 2g at stock 672 rpm with steady voltage. Like you it starts high cold just over 14 and settled down ar...

Re: EA Slope Calculation Offset Input Option

Ok more ramblings, I have talked myself out of using the Z_AFR for the time being and continue down the HEGO voltage path. I know my engine is rich based on the amount of carbon coating my O2 (wiped down every oil change) and stain on the garage floor at the tail pipe (turn down tip). Using the Z_AF...

Cmon ED...…. Lol, your embarrassing me!

It an old under powered, low on memory, XP Netbook running Win10. Unfortunately my BE/EA license is locked to it. The dongle version wasn't available way back then so …… sigh.... I keep using it.

Re: EA Slope Calculation Offset Input Option

Thank you again Chris, your response is forcing me to think through the possible scenario. Unfortunately, Battery Offset is a global adder. It will effect both HS and LS the same. Reducing your Battery Offset allows for closer slope values only because you have less slop during very low pulswithdths...

Re: EA Slope Calculation Offset Input Option

Chris, thanks for responding. I agree 100% with your post but only in a perfect world which my car doesn't live apparently. What I meant about tuning for two differnt size injectors is in refrence to making closed loop work. It really has nothing to do with slope error in this case. I had the issue ...

EA Slope Calculation Offset Input Option

I had an epiphany moment today. I have been experimenting with hego switching trying to lean out my ride CL and decided to give EA another go on calculating slopes to clean up fuel on a near perfect overlay of scaled factory settings. In the past, slope calculations have always calculated me leaner ...

Dashboard LED Color Selection Locking Up BE 5.140

Maybe it's me but can someone try creating a new LED display on their dashboard. Version 5.139 has the same issue if you have not updated. Creation of the LED seems to work fine. When I try to select a color for the on state BE locks up and is unresponsive requiring a kill via task manager. Same thi...

Re: FN346 ....PIP Multplier Larger/Smaller values?

Starting to rain so here are a couple of screen shots. All three sitting at a hot idle. Yellow= HEGO Green= Lambse Pink= AFR 1. FN346 stock, zero bias: You can see lambse is very casual with AFR seeming to favor lean until the slow jump/ramp finally gets it to switch. Its slow in both directions. 2....

Re: FN346 ....PIP Multplier Larger/Smaller values?

Quick update...… just getting started but so far it appears we may need to look at FN346 more as a window size. The smaller the window the faster or maybe more accurately, Larger the reaction. Similar to using a rich bias which also forces a smaller window of expected pips. In my case where pulses a...

Re: Looking for a sanity check on boosted spark values

Lol....it's a good idea except Lambse is based on a HEGO input. Unfortunately it's 0-1volt, you need a 0-5volt input for it to be of any use. Have you tried the guy that made the ADX? If has a patch code to use a DataQ alongside the quarter horse.....your golden. Your other option is to consider the...

Re: FN346 ....PIP Multplier Larger/Smaller values?

Forgot to add....I do have a theory in my mind for it but without knowing how to interpret the given info, it doesn't make sense.

I really need to look at a bin for the 5.0 trucks that used a crossover. I assume they we're mono Hego systems.

Re: FN346 ....PIP Multplier Larger/Smaller values?

Thanks for the response Chris. I am now looking at it and have decided I have no idea how to calculate the BIAS/PTPAMP. I have always looked at it as a sum. If that's the case, based on stock values, anything with a zero or positive value in the Bias table is going to fall on the maximum multiplier ...

FN346 ....PIP Multplier Larger/Smaller values?

Been trying to do some reading up on this function killing time at work. I am trying to figure out what exactly it's multiplying. There is an inexpensive external logging device available from a company called DataQ. The problem is I don't believe anyone has created a plug in to sync the data into TunerPro.

Re: Load calculation/RPM reporting?

My translation of that is it allows more utilization of the cells in the OL fuel table. Agreed. , if actual load ranges from say 1000RPM/70% then goes up to 4000RPM/150%, then there'd be cells above 70% for the low RPMs that are unattainable Not necessarily..... Sealevel Load Scaling allows you to ...

Re: Load calculation/RPM reporting?

Since we are having this little sidebar, I have to add my 2 cents and add some clarity. When this function is setup correctly, WOT at all RPMs should result in Load% being very near 100%. Why that's useful, I honestly don't know It's useful in creating a third axis (RPM) for your ol fuel. This basic...

Re: Change maf or injector slopes

Your in good hands with Ed......I just want to throw out there. once you get your basics sorted, I would drop that fuel pressure down a little and tune with the meth off. Re: Change maf or injector slopes

If your adding fuel via the MAF, your fuel should be consistent but not necessarily correct. You need to dial in the fuel via MAF up top with the Wot multplier disabled. Make it match the fuel table. You can also disable the OL fuel multplier if you like, I don't bother since its a constant and does...

Re: Change maf or injector slopes

I have not looked at the data you provided.....yes there are many ways to go about this. How do you use the car? It appears your concern is mainly track duty WOT. If your happy will all other running conditions adjust the MAF points for WOT. I prefer to tune for OL first then enable the WOT multplie...
