Re: Tough to start
What happens if you turn the key on a couple of times without cranking, to prime the fuel system....then crank it? Just to rule out bad contact between the ECU and Connector...you might need to clean the grease from the pins. Also look at the braided ground strap that runs from the ECU connector to ...

Sounds like a voltage offset issue. Are you logging with BE or CalCon? BE allows you to adjust for it.

Re: Fueling and question about Load above 100% N/A
I also have both my WB and NB in the same location. The NB will switch but show lazy rich at low RPM forcing Lambse to continually try to lean out yet the WB indicates a lean condition. Once I bring the RPM up to around 2000 they seem to match more closely. It wasn't until I started to simulate NB f...

Re: Fueling and question about Load above 100% N/A
Building on what Cgrey8 said.... Something else to consider is your exhaust setup may be influencing HEGO behavior. It could very well be the reason you are struggling to set up the MAF and Injection parameters which may be causing this hiccup at 1900 rpm. I know what you are talking about...its lik...

Re: 1L2F-12B579-BA MAF transfer function?
Not to be contentious or contrary, I do agree with most of what you are saying regarding volumetric efficiency affecting fuel required. However..... The MAF is just a sensor. It only reports a voltage based on airflow. If volumetric efficiency changes, the airflow past the sensor should change respe...

Re: Trouble setting idle on 408 build
I dont believe its a MAF hardware issue. Seeing as you cant get above ~450rpm....you are at the bottom point of the MAF Transfer which repeats the 13kg/hr.... Therefore you get no fluctuations. Im assuming you have the spout in? Do you have a functional CEL? If you pull codes...do you get a failed M...

Re: Trouble setting idle on 408 build
Maybe I missed it but how low is the MAF voltage? Idle is looking for about 0.8v from the MAF. You may be running off the failed MAF table at idle which won't account for your 30# injectors. There are 2 parameters you need to adjust ... I don't remember the names at the moment, but one is a minimum ...

If you have a wideband you can put it into openloop and verify its close. Honestly...for what it costs .... play it safe and tow it. No sense taking a chance with your new build.

Re: Effect of long tubes, and general questions
It does appear that there is some sort of limit on how much LAMBSE (short term fuel trim...not adaptive learning) is allowed to swing. What is strange is the numbers don't correlate to the High/Low AF Ratio Permitted. Check your logs and see if LAMBSE ever commands higher than 16.xx or lower than 13...

Re: 351 E4OD EEC IV QH tuning
Hopefully someone chimes in on tuning the shift control...I don't know much about your strategy but the hesitation could possibly be caused by your issue. As for the heat issues....I don't think the intake in the engine bay will cause that kind of heating. Its possible your cooling system isnt up to...

Re: Effect of long tubes, and general questions
You've got the basic understanding... look at lambse (short term correction) if its still commanding a rich mix in combination with Kamrf (stored correction) you are lean. The problem with allowing such high stored correction is the ECU has to fight it to get the EGO to switch the other way. The sto...

Re: Effect of long tubes, and general questions
You are still lean which is likely contributing to your heat issues. The ECU should not have to compensate that much and is likely pegging the limit of compensation it can provide.
Either reduce your injector slopes or increase your MAF curve by 10% as a start to see if things improve.

The bin will work but the definition is missing the parameters for the additional code. IIRC...the maf transfer is relocated so adjusting the VAF table will have no effect. You should be able to view your bin in BE with the definition file I posted in one of tour other threads. If you feel adventuro...

Welcome....yes you can post a datalog as an attachment. You might want to be more specific about what you want to know. The logs are self explanatory as a snapshot of what the ECU is doing. Your remote tuner should be able to shed some light on what he is seeing and why he is doing what he is doing....

Re: Effect of long tubes, and general questions
Once you have ruled out all possible intake and exhaust leaks, I would verify that your base mechanical idle is set correctly. If the throttle blade is open too much or too little the ISC routines will only be able to compensate so much. You are basically stock and the tune should be close as is. Th...

Re: Effect of long tubes, and general questions
I would leave the delay alone for now...it just makes the HEGOs a bit sluggish to respond. As stated...you need a wideband to know how much error you have between what the computer thinks is stoic and actual WB results otherwise you are flying blind. If you wish to do what you can without a wideband...

Re: Minimum injector pulsewidth
Not sure what the context of your question is but there will always be a minimum "reliable" pulse width of an injector to deliver fuel. Zero delivers zero fuel. Most of it has to do with the time it takes for the coil to energize...pull in the solenoid...then de-energize and close. You can play with...

You won't be able to use that definition for the speed density bin. It missing the extra parameters you need.
If you compare the SD bin to a stock bin you will see a shit tonne of extra code.

Been awhile since ive posted. Hey y'all... hope everyone is doing ok these days. How is your air filter/maf/turbo intake set up? Its not so much that the Vam maxs out at 3k, the code throws it into OL at 3k regardless. You can play with the values to hold CL into higher RPM if you wish.

I'm not able to wrap mind around the usefulness of this on an average street vehicle. I'm not saying it's not there....only I dont see it. If your constantly changing fuel and need fast correction ....maybe. Your ECU already compensates. If your running 5% ethonol, the ECU will need to command aroun...
