The attached zip contains SADV4.12 (4.13.2) DIR and CMT files consolidated from various sources of varying quality. Obviously needs more work. It might assist you in building a better definition file. 12QB 12RB 22CA NGVB5 AU2 XR8.zip SAD can be obtained from github; https://github.com/tvrfan/EEC-IV-...

Disassembly of the bin and identification of the PID's. Some open sorrce work has been done on it over here; http://www.efidynotuning.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1085&sid=3546429a92aa1930ca462162ca374a60 This is a disassemebly thread relevant to finding PID addresses; http://forum.efidynotuning.com/vi...

Re: No PIDs showing for my calibration when using QH
The PID's have to be added to the definition file. For BE they would be added to the Payloads tab of the *.xlsx definition. For TP it would be the ADX I believe. The way a VCM works and the way a QH works is not directly comparable.

Re: Understanding how Checksum range is figured out
You just stepped into the bottomless rabbit hole, LOL, welcome to disassembly. Thankfully, there's a handy little program developed by TVRfan called SAD that will save doing some signed binary math on a calculator. You can find it here; https://github.com/tvrfan/EEC-IV-disassembler/tree/master/Devel...

Re: FORD Custom EPROMs and Address range information
The file you attached does not look original. An original would be 32kB as that is the chip size for those I believe. The file would be 0x0000 to 0x7FFF. Who knows why someone added a pattern like that. FF would do just fine to pad it up to 56kB. BE has an option to specify EEC_32K as the PCMType, b...

No first hand with them.
Ask Clint what the error is that you get.
The AHACB read only is likely sailorbob's, pm him on here or email him at the address from an old moates feed;

Re: FORD Custom EPROMs Address ranges
Some on eecanalyser have come from EEC's, don't know about all. All ROM files start at 0x2000, originals won't have 0x0000 to 0x1fff in the file. Opening an unpadded ROM file in a hex editor will show file address starting at 0x0000, but actual address is 0x2000. Most bin file have 0xFF, what patter...

Re: Running dual EDIS4's with one A9L on a SBF V8
SIGPIP is TFI talk. I don't believe the missing tooth is passed through edis to pip signal in any way. What changes have been made to the tune to run EDIS8? You will need missing tooth as EDIS uses it to determine which coil to fire. EDIS expects SAW in a window. EDIS might default to 10°btdc if it ...

Re: Running dual EDIS4's with one A9L on a SBF V8
The pip from each edis will need to go to the eec input, via diodes as power on edis pip pin from an external source may let the smoke out or who knows what. A lot of stuff is calculated on each pip pulse. IIRC saw is one of the calcs as well as well as rpm and fuel. With pip from each edis going to...

For an output source you could use a multimeter in volts mode.
For an output sink you could use a multimeter in diode mode.

Re: Making the Cologne 2.9 Distributor-less using 4L OHV parts - TFI/SD to EDIS/MAF Conversion
I just got this pic minutes ago from the guy who initially built it. It shows the 90 degrees of separation. With MS, that wasn't an issue. I disagree. Instead of base timing at 10°btdc, it is 30 off puting it at 40°btdc. Tuneable range becomes 20°btdc to 90°btdc. What I'll need to do is remove and ...

Re: Making the Cologne 2.9 Distributor-less using 4L OHV parts - TFI/SD to EDIS/MAF Conversion
The EDIS module just fires coils in sequence A-B-C. Firing order 1-4-2-5-3-6; Coil A 1&5 Coil B 4&3 Coil C 2&6 Assumes; Edis pin 10 to Coil A Edis pin 11 to Coil B Edis pin 12 to Coil C Or has 11 & 12 been crossed to coil C & B? It'd be worth having one edis pin connected at a time to confirm which ...

Cylinder 6 - the one in the middle - I get intermittent strobing.
Apparently some coil packs have pin 1 as 12v power and others are pin 4...something else to check out.

Re: Making the Cologne 2.9 Distributor-less using 4L OHV parts - TFI/SD to EDIS/MAF Conversion
Pin 8 not connected is going to generate a fault code because it can't see a change when the pump starts. Wire it as per the ranger circuit. So you firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6? It's wasted spark so 1&5, 4&3 and 2&6 always fire as pairs. You say 4&5 don't strobe the light. You should have lost 3&1 at...

Re: Making the Cologne 2.9 Distributor-less using 4L OHV parts - TFI/SD to EDIS/MAF Conversion
Above, I mentioned the impact of capacity difference on timing.
What crank angle is the CPS at?
What does a timing light show you?
Fault codes should be possible by jumper and LED, without a code reading tool.
Your ranger 2.3 to xr4 2.3 is the same capacity...same engine.

Re: Making the Cologne 2.9 Distributor-less using 4L OHV parts - TFI/SD to EDIS/MAF Conversion
4007 is 1000V and the 4004 is 400V, I'd stick with the 1000V to be sure, to be sure, more safety margin. The 18V reverse biased zener may prove to be necessary, depends on what your tacho expects the signal to look like. Your tacho may already have a capacitor or zener internally to filter Vbat from...
