Re: 93 Mark VIII, how to delete EGR

OK Well looks like I need to access the tune then. I have read a few things on the quarterhorse and so on but its hard to know what vintage the infomration is. Could you be so kind as to point me to the "how to tune the EEC IV" thread that is the current best option please. I am also not clear if tu...

Re: 89 Mustang EEC IV - Stumble at low RPM

This is good article. http://webpages.charter.net/darrell1/mustang_efi.html Also read this: http://eectuning.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5434 I am going to work on the TPS and regap the plugs to .040 instead of .054 and clean distrib contacts again. I fairly sure this is vaccum or spark. Does the TFI...

89 Mustang EEC IV - Stumble at low RPM

All the sensors are original. Just replaced: fuel lines, fuel filter, plugs, plug leads, dist cap, rotor, coil, injectors & ECM. Motor ran perfectly... for one tank of gas... now has a low RPM stumble when in a tall gear under load. I used to be able to pull away from 800rpm in 4th very smoothly. No...

Re: 93 Mark VIII, how to delete EGR

Not ready to modify the ECM yet. I have the actual EGR components connected both elctrically and vacuum. THe ECM is throwing KOEO codes of 31 82 83 85 (from memory) 31 should not be there. So I guess it is detecting that the EGR is not actually working as expected somehow. I guess im still not sure ...

Re: Brain Dead HLOS indicated - any other possible causes

Engine runs PERFECTLY now. Just done a few thousand miles. It pulls from 400 rpm and makes great power. Very happy to have this running again.

Re: EGR removal questions Please help!

Following up on this thread, ( and many of the others I have read on this forum) I have removed the EGR and EVAP. I blocked off the EGR hole on the upper manifod with a thin plate in the gasket. I have the EGR actuator and the EGR valve bolted to the car and plugged in so the ECM thinks they are the...

Re: Brain Dead HLOS indicated - any other possible causes

the tfi system is self contained, in other words you can remove the ecu complete and as long as the engine is ingesting fuel it will fire at base timing Didnt know that. Of course with the ECM removed there would be no injector pulses, but still, I didnt know the TFI was seperate. Where is this log...

Brain Dead HLOS indicated - any other possible causes

Getting constant light on with an 89 mustang EEC IV. THe "tester" is noting more than an led that flashes so not sure how relaiabkle that is. Cranking reveals not a single fire and fuel pump not running. When I run fuel pump whit a jumper cable, stiull no fire. Checked for sparks and they are not pr...

YES! Thank you! ... a forum for the EEC MkIV

Why didn't I think of doing a Google search years ago for this.. sheeesh duh. A whole forum on EEC IV - wow. great. I have an EEC IV in a street rod. THe motor is an 89 mustang 302 with MAF (hot wire anemometer) I rewired pretty much everything and dumped all the EGR / emissions crap. The motor had ...
