Re: Issues conking out when stopping...
Take a look at the following:
DASMIN
FN810
FN824
FN841N
Might want to open up the ISC more as the rpm drops below idle.

Re: funny dashpot behaviour
New TPS is holding steady at 0.98 volts. Amazing how much a bad part can mess with your idle, thought the cam was causing the surging.

Re: funny dashpot behaviour
If I change the DELTA breakpoint for part throttle to .10 it should help, but is this too large and tuning around a bad TPS sensor?

Re: funny dashpot behaviour
Well, I was finally able to catch it while datalogging. My TPS jumps from .78 to .86 volts when I'm not touching the throttle. This puts it in part throttle mode and causing it to idle up and stay there. First off is .78 normal for idle? Should a change this small put it in part throttle mode? I gue...

BE can't write to tweeker or datalog
This happens if I turn off the key while data logging. I have to exit BE and restart it. I know, don't do that. I always did this with calcon and the habit is hard to break.

funny dashpot behaviour
After starting the car it idles great and dashpot works correctly if I rev the engine, dropping back to dashpot of 0. But after driving the car and stopping, the car behaves different. The dashpot drops to 0 as when I rev it, but before it drops all the way to idle rpm the dashpot kicks back in. It ...

Question on SPK_FBS_GAIN
SPK_FBS_GAIN (feedback spark gain)
This is mentioned in idle air 101. Is this or a similar scalar available for GUFB(X3Z)? I can't find it in BE.

Since you have matching injectors and MAF, you don't absolutely have to enter the correct MAF curve injector settings. You can scale the CID to bring your load values into alignment. This should get the car running well. If you scale the CID down, then you should NOT change the MAF curve, injector s...

Definately need to tune the ISC neutral air flow. Also need to change the throttle body air flow scalar. These have to match. The throttle body air flow tells the computer how much air flows without ISC and the ISC neutral air flow tells the computer how much air flows with ISC. You should look at b...

Main reason is Mark doesn't have a Ford himself. He is providing a binary editing tool and relying on imput from users to build up some example def files to get people started. Randy I understand that. Why does Caledit also seem to be incorrect? Does anybody on this forum know the answers to my que...

This may be off the wall, but adding boost effectively increases compression ratio. Adding boost to my 9.2 engine results in about 14.2 ratio. The general rule of thumb is to reduct timing one degree for every two pounds of boost. So that about 1.25 degrees per unit of compression. Now does this app...

Can I ask a dumb question (or two) since the definitions are the same in both CalEdit and TunerPro but do not jibe with what I'm reading in GUFB? FN901 AKA Base Spark Table is described as "FN901 (SPKSEA) = Base sea level table." in GUFB. FN904A AKA Altitude Spark is decribed as "FN904A (LOMSEA) = ...

TunerPro to replace CalEdit for BIN tuning
For everyone that hates CalEdit as much as I do, here is a new binary editor program. This program rocks. It graphs the tables, etc... It even has a binary comparison tool that shows exactly what memory addresses are different and what table/function/etc has changed. Best of all the basic version is...

tuning idle air settings
Disconnect the ISC and let the car idle. Set the throttle body screw so that the car will just barely idle. Set the TPS to ~0.99. Now datalog the car for about 30 seconds after it is fully warmed up. Average the airflow and convert it to the correct units for the throttle body airflow. Set the throt...

Ah right, I understand it now. KAMRF isn't your MAF curve, it's the adaptive fuel trim correction stored in the KAM. By lowering your MIN_INJECTOR_PULSEWIDTH the calculated pw is less than is required for a stoichiometric AF ratio at idle and therefore the hego feedback is signalling that the AF ra...
