Re: what strategy does my bin use?

Ok quarterhorse question.. i dont get why if u can realtime change a parameter in memory why cant u log the same parameter... Those parameters are values in tables etc that remain fixed for the life of that tune setting. They are inputs for the ecu calculations, whereas you want to log ecu calculat...

The PC must connect in 30 days or it will not start the app. That's ordinary. Remind me again why have I bought a dongle to do the license authorisation ? Why on earth does your software have to phone home every 30 days ? Which version and update did this get introduced with ? One of my current tas...

Re: A/D counts vs voltage conversion

It's not hard to lose 0.12V with meters of wire and multiple crimped connectors. 5.12v also assumes absolute precision in the regulator. The bit value from the ADC also assumes absolute precision of the conversion. Reality is, the internal EEC electronics have tolerances as do the sensors and the eq...

Re: runs very lean - relocated PCM

1 – I can't find any reference to this anywhere, but is it possible that increasing the length of wiring by maybe a factor of 4 or 5 between the PCM driver and injectors causes diminished injector response? Yes, that would be my 1st thing to look at. Measure the voltage at the injector terminal pai...

Hmm sounds about right but can't be entirely sure unless I can find it again. I'm fairly certain which hard drive it is on just have not had time to recover data off of it yet. Re: Is there a way / fuel pressure

I got the EGT hooked up to an innovate TC-4. The TC-4 has a limitation of starting its measurements at about 20ºC above ambient for the location of the TC-4. It is because of the way K's work and the lack of proper cold compensation at the TC-4 end. I've gone away from K's for the drivetrain temps l...

Re: Is there a way / fuel pressure

I have a lead going from the sender wire to my Superlogger which is a beta test version of the QH which has not been released yet by Moates. Re: Is there a way / fuel pressure

If your looking for a 0-5V sensor Bosch/Ford have a Fuel Rail Pressure Temperature sensor used on many Fords over the last nine or so years. The sensor part number is 3F2Z-9G756-AC, or 3F2E-9G756-AD, or Bosch 0261230093. An unassembled connector cam be bought from Ron Francis Wiring. I have it for c...

Re: Sensors showing "0" with new QH

Howdy, I did NOT soak the QH in acetone, I used a clean cotton rag that was slightly damp with acetone to clean the j-3 port. Big difference. The 800grit sandpaper isn't any courser than scotbrite pad. Paul Hello Paul, I was referring to acetone on the EEC pcb, but wouldn't want in on the QH either...

Re: Sensors showing "0" with new QH

Howdy, Yep. It actually looks like it has some type of waxie plastic crap covering the pins. You cannot simply "erase" it. I tried several different things to remove the stuff and finally settled on the 800 grit sandpaper and acetone. It worked and to me seems to be about the best way to remove the...

When I have the GGR chip plugged in ForDiag reports CARD catchcode, rather than COSY of the eec-iv alone.

The GGR chip will have a different checksum to CARD, so does ForDiag really have the checksum and catchcode of 3rd party chips ?

Re: A/D counts vs voltage conversion

Are you saying the MAF has it's own AD converter chip that isn't shared by other devices? Or just it's own input on the PCB? Yes the maf has its own input to the pcb, that is cofigured different to other inputs. RN3, might be "resistor network". Its other 4 pins need tracing, and/or testing, to fin...

Re: A/D counts vs voltage conversion

That's a good point I keep forgetting. Everything is VREF except the MAF. Since it gets a 12v input, it must be internally regulated. So how can I determine what its regulated to? I wouldn't even know if its a pull up or pull down design without depinning a wire or something. The OEM Hitachi MAF on...

Re: A/D counts vs voltage conversion

Could the input ADC's be ratiometric to Vref ?

If yes, then a/d count voltage value becomes a moot point, so long as sensor output is ratiometric.

MAF output could not be ratiometric to Vref, as they have a seperate 12v feed.

TPS is, as it is just a pot.

1st determine if your a/m speedo sensor is voltage or frequency output. Then how much voltage for both and the frequency range if that type.
