Re: Startup and cold ECT idle adders question
Thanks guys, yeah I understood this is the area I need to fine tune for my cold start issues. I changed both FN826A and FN825A and decided to leave TKDTM alone for now. I got the desired results but I'm still not sure of something so I will restate the question I was trying to ask at the beginning o...

Startup and cold ECT idle adders question
I want to make sure my understanding of these 3 PIDs is correct. Is adder FN826A "startup ECT adder" added to the value of FN825A "ECT adder" as long as TKDTM is active, or does the EEC only look at FN826A until the TKDTM timer has expired whereupon it starts using the FN825A adder?

Re: vehicle stuck in closed loop
Are you using the OL/CL indicator on the BE dashboard to determine this? I've had trouble in the past getting that indicator to read correctly, I think it defaults to showing CL when in fact its in OL and vice versa.

Re: Error 19 when loading a .CRY file
Hmmm, never mind. I updated Binary Editor to the version released in May 2012 which was displayed when I clicked check for updates (application) Is this the latest for those using TwEECer?

Error 19 when loading a .CRY file
Today when I tried to open the CBAZA.cry file I got and error 19:Load Strategy - "Check the strategy file and make sure it is not open by another program". I restarted my PC and get the same problem, but the ordinary CBAZA.xls does work. When I get the message the status shows "Loading Strategy File...

Thanks for the quick response and happy new year. Maybe this time next year it will be in the garage where it belongs - still too much junk in the way.

Logging commanded RPM in CBAZA
Is there a way to log the commanded RPM using BE & TwEECer with CBAZA? I've gotten kind of rusty using BE etc. so I hope this isn't a dumb question  I've not tuned this car in a long time and it has been sitting for a couple months while I moved to a new house. Went to start it the other da...

Do you have a fuel multiplier based on ACT in that strategy?

Re: Anyway to verify Wideband calibration?
I think confirmation via the KAMs based on standard factory narrow bands is a good idea. I think the narrow bands are pretty accurate for when the stoichiometric point is crossed, especially when they are new or low mileage.

Chris, can you elaborate just a bit? Did you tune in OL with the old motor?cgrey8 wrote:I personally don't use KAMRFs...or more accurately I didn't use KAMRFs with my previous 302 setup. I could get the tune close enough without them and didn't need them.

Re: EEC reporting a Sum Check error
Well Clint, the updated file you sent worked, thanks. I want to document here a bunch of issues I was chasing that were documented in other threads and all turned out to be related. The issues were that I had many DTC's with the first being a 511 ROM error. I also wondered why the fuel pump didn't c...

Re: Binary Editior wont detect my twEECer
BE needs to see the TwEECer driver. There are quite a few threads about this issue in these forums, you might search on TwEECer driver and/or FTDI. Also, look in the BE dosumentation/help files for guidance as recommended in this thread: http://eectuning.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=19039&hilit=t...

CEL with error code 511
I'm getting an error 511 which is a sum check error. Clint has looked at the CBAZA.xmls file I'm using and found an issue he resolved. But I still have the same error and for a number of reasons I am starting to think either the TwEECer or the EEC itself is having an issue. Shouldn't I be able to fl...

Re: Fuel Pump Cycling on write w/BE2012
Thanks Chris, I did follow that OK. Sounds like a simple solution is to simply "Write" every time and not use "Update", Well I have never been a fan of update in any SW package although I know the technology has progressed. So if I use Write I should be OK?

Re: Closed Loop LED Not Working - New Procedure?
I'm having trouble in this area too. I discovered I needed to be connected to the TwEECer with the key on in order to make any OL/CL indicator configuration changes so I selected FLAGS1, B4 and it seemed to work, but I think the logic is backwards. Flag set to "1" in the log and I got a green light,...

Re: EEC reporting a Sum Check error
Well I've been able to work on this a bit and I confirmed I'm getting several error codes but the first one is always 511. I searched the forum and saw a discussion about using CBAZA.xls with BE 2012 causing this (511). I'm stumped. Surely BE 2012 works with the CBAZA file I downloaded from Clint's ...

I found the cells with the sumcheck value, start and end addresses. But now I can't figure out how I got BE to calculate a new sum check and there is nothing in the help file about creating a new sum check.
