Fuel Pump Cycling on write w/BE2012

I noticed when writing to the EEC using BE 2012 that the fuel pump does not cycle as it did with the older versions of BE. Is this correct?

Re: No toolbar in BE

send me an email with the id and password for teamviewer and i will log in and take a look Thanks Clint, but I decided to get brave and I removed BE and deleted the directory, then reloaded BE 2012. It worked, and now I see the redesigned toolbar. But what is "teamviewer" and is it different from w...

Made it worse, now there is no toolbar and no strategy or calibration. Maybe you will have to log in to my PC.

Re: how to calculate checksum?

I have to confess this thread has gone over my head. I am getting a CEL that I never used to have and the EEC is reporting a Sum Check Failure. This thread probably belongs in the EECGeeks or SW Issues forum.

Re: how to calculate checksum?

Mike, I think you misunderstood. The checksum that's calculated by the software is then stored within the binary at a given address. There is a routine to calculate a checksum to verify against the hard set calculated one which is utilized to determine a good or corrupt image. Right. See this threa...

Air straightener

I suspect I may have excessive turbulance around the MAF and I am not able to clock the MAF to any other position. Is there a preference out there for a particular brand/style air straightener?

Hey Chris,

Is there a chance I need to switch from "Classic" view. I am on a Windows 7 platform so I will need some help to figure out what the "Classic" view means.

No toolbar in BE

I just uploaded a number of updates to BE and the toolbar is no longer visible at the top of the display. However, if you hover over it the various items will appear, then disappear when you move the cursor.

EEC reporting a Sum Check error

I loaded my first tune in a couple of years using BE/Dongle and while the tune and logging seem to work fine I cannot get rid of the Sum Check error being reported by the EEC. I calculated a new SUM in BE but I'm still getting the error. (CBAZA with a tune based on W4H0). Are there any known issues ...

Hey Pete,

We need more specifics about your car like most of us include in our profile. Also let us know what you are using for a tuner. Does it run? Can you log it?

Re: Am I registered for 2012?

Here is a bit more info. When I load BE Windows 7 always asks if I want to allow this SW to make changes to the disk, and I get an error message saying "Class not registered". The red LED on the dongle goes out and when I exit BE it comes back on.

Logging and reading/writing calibrations with BE 2012

I got the dongle from Clint for 2012 but when I go into BE it seems to work but it still says BE 2012 "Unregistered" at the top left. In addition, EA will not open any logs. The red LED on the dongle is lit and Windows is reporting that it is ready to use. Is there something I need to do when I inse...

Re: Resizing meters on the Datalog tab?

I'm having trouble here too. I just got 2012 so this could be a learning issue. But I was having trouble moving the guages. If I opened the alignment tool box the only thing I could do was resize and when I pressed "center" two of the guages were on top of each other with no way to fix. I exited BE ...

As chronicled in these forums a few years ago I burned 3 pistons on the last pass of the evening. My son was driving and we made a hot lap as the track was ready to close. I had compared CBAZA W4HO to J4J1 (I was basing on W4HO at the time) and noticed J4J1 (Cobra) did not richen the mixture at high...
