Something smells funny about this. I'm clearly no expert, but did they just take an OBDII factory EEC and put it in a new box?

Seems to have a lot of features most OEM computers do not, additionally most OEM systems only support specific crankshaft trigger wheels, etc... This one seems to support a wide variety of input/trigger methods. It might be based on OEM hardware, but seems to have a lot of custom code in it.

Agreed, but what I meant is did they take a factory Ford EEC OBDII, put it in their box with a piggyback, and write new code for it?LeadHead wrote:Seems to have a lot of features most OEM computers do not, additionally most OEM systems only support specific crankshaft trigger wheels, etc... It seems to retain a lot of Ford specific parameters.

I don't see anything Ford specific about it at all.

I agree with that thread starter, it's a ford pcm with a huge markup.decipha wrote:there was some talk here but nothing came of it

2k including a brand new harness doesn't seem like a huge markup for what's effectively a spanish oak thats real-time programmable.
