Desktop computer and datalogging

Post by maverick1099 » Thu Aug 07, 2003 9:11 pm

I have searched through the yahoo page and the forums unsuccessfully. I am sure this has been asked though so my appologies.

When data logging with a desktop computer how do you do it? What I mean is, can the tweecer log to itself? Does it require that an external computer be hooked up to it recording while its logging.... thuse making desktop PCs rather limited? Or can it log to its own memory and then be read into the PC to have a look?

If it is able to log to itself and then read into a computer how do I accomplish this?

Sorry for what I know must be a redundant question

You have to have the USB cable hooked to the PC (laptop or tower) in order for it to datalog for you. You can datalog to your home PC, it just needs to be near the car (I did this before getting my laptop).

Make SURE your outlest and any exnetnsion cords are prperly GROUNDED!! Otherwise you will have voltage going into the car, I had thiat as the PO of the house did not ground the outlets in the garage, zap, ouch, quit it, zap, ouch quit it!!

I think that also caused some of my wildly out of line datalogging too.. 5V from the O2's?? jeesh!!
