Re: Bluetooth adapter for the Moates Quarterhorse
I agree Chris. I have spent the same time with both Clint and Craig/Dave as well with TunerPro but I am invested in BE and Clint in the long run; not to take away anything or disrespect Craig/Dave and Moates. Clint and BE just suits and serves my needs better for what I am looking for and comfortable with. The SL has alot of potential but I am just finding myself sticking to the QH with BT interface and BE/Tunerview for what I do. The extra channels are nice on the SL to log fuel and boost pressure but require map sensors or pressure sensors to do soIif you are not using electrical gauges with analog out. No big deal to interface them and I do log AFR, boost and fuel pressure with the SL and BE but its not for novice users from my experience. It was easier to integrate with the beta version of the SL but the new version for me is hit and miss since the logger and connectivity are different. The other issue I have experienced with the QH is backup battery longevity. My QH battery with updated firmware and changeability still only last 6 months before a battery replacement is required. The issue we found with my car is with the main vehicle battery disconnected via nhra safety kill switch killls kapwr to the ecm which makes the QH run on the back up battery. I tried to wire kapwr constant with the battery switch off but was unsuccesful since kapwr feeds the interior lights, ignition switch, fuel pump relay and ecm relay with constant power. That is just how the fox body cars are wired with the stock harness and the only work around would be a stand alone harness which brings other issues to the table. Even though I run drag radial 8.50 index, i like my car to operate as intended from the factory. I am one of very few guys that run 8.50 index with full interior, electronics and accessories including A/C. The only thing that doesnt work is the rear defrost only because the hatch window strips were removed during a glass retint and Im to lazy to replace it. Not that I need rear defog in FL...lol.

Hey Chris, Just wanted to give you an update and let you know working with Clint, we have SL up and running and functional/logging real time values through standard usb, opto isolator and bluetooth. Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Bluetooth adapter for the Moates Quarterhorse
My main question is how do I get that working for myself since I have a SL and would like to use it.
If I do find that this bluetooth connection to the Innovate LC-1 works, I'll likely keep it and run the QH/SL combo on bluetooth as well as the Innovate on its own bluetooth adapter. My computer can connect to multiple BT devices simultaneously, so that's not a problem. It just means I'll be able to connect other stuff to the SL's various inputs. I don't have anything, in particular, that I need to log on the SL. But it'd be nice to know those I/Os are available.

Re: Bluetooth adapter for the Moates Quarterhorse
I've had BT setup on the QH for quite some time. The only reason I haven't used the SL in the truck is because the ability to log it in realtime along-side the QH from BE wasn't there. I emailed Clint and he said there's still issues with BE on Win10 that he's sorting out. He said he'd get me a copy of BE that supports this as soon as he gets those Win10 issues resolved.

Re: Bluetooth adapter for the Moates Quarterhorse
The only issue I am experiencing that he knows about with the SL as of recent is trying to update a tune while data logging without the logger crashing connected through BT.

Re: Bluetooth adapter for the Moates Quarterhorse
Hi Chris just wanted to give you an update. The analog out to adc in channels on the SL are currently not working correctly with BE as I originally had thought and reported recently. I was testing today and found some logging issues and I am working with Clint to get these resolved. I will post an update as soon as I can.

Re: Bluetooth adapter for the Moates Quarterhorse
Update:
ADC channels are functional now. Issue was with AFR. The fix will be included on the next revision of BE.

Re: Bluetooth adapter for the Moates Quarterhorse
Clint sent me the latest BE version to check out with my SL. I haven't taken the time on it yet as I'm still fairly invested in the Bluetooth Innovate serial direction. But I think I've made a breakthrough in what was causing me problems. I've got some stuff to test with today. I just have to get it soldered together so I can confirm what I believe my stumbling block was.
Regardless how the Innovate wireless effort turns out though, I do still plan on circling back around and determining if I can get the SL to work along-side my QH as well. While I don't have anything, immediately, that I'd like to log on it other than AFR, having the other inputs available is nice to know I have. I just wish someone made a frequency-based input.

Re: Bluetooth adapter for the Moates Quarterhorse
It might, I'll have to look into it. What I don't know is what kind of frequency sensors Ford uses. Are they outputting variable frequency 50/50 square waves or are they variable duty-cycle?

Re: Bluetooth adapter for the Moates Quarterhorse
MAP is 50%DC varying Hz.
Those Conti flex fuel sensors are varying DC and Hz.
I have mentioned to Clint about getting DC and Hz data into BE from SL.
Refreshed the old oram, and yes 1 frequency input.

Re: Bluetooth adapter for the Moates Quarterhorse
So they are capable of communicating two different signals simultaneously, one via varrying frequency, and the other via voltage level? If that's right, what is the other value? With the obvious one being the ethanol content? Fuel temp?
