Will not datalog and I followed the FAQ directions, A9L
A9L and version 1.20B3
After reclocking the MAF and making a few caledit adjustments, the engine fired up more easily and idled on its own finally.
Before I started her up, I followed Jon's FAQ directions on how to datalog. At first I turned the key on then plugged in the USB cable, opened Caledit, checked my stuff, hit Payload, went to input/output, checked datalog, wrote the file to the tweecer, it did take, closed caledit, opened calcon, checked log to file, set the RT method to Fox (A9L computer, 92 LX), then I hit start logging but did not start the car. i wanted to see what the TPS was at. No logging, so I hit stop logging, started the car, and hit start logging again and some error screen popped up saying "Table does not exist...File C:Program Files\STKR\LogFiles..." and a string of numbers.
So I turned the car off, and redid the payload and everything as per the directions. Then I turned the key on, waited more than a few seconds, uploaded the file, it took, started the car, tried to log and the same error message popped up.
What am I doing wrong and what do I have to do to fix it?
Thanks.

Some of the variables give wierd errors.

Do you know what that error message means? BTW thanks for the reply.
Do you think I should start over with a "clean" A9L file and redo the payload? Correct that positions 1-4 can datalog and 5 is the bypass?
Sorry for the multiquestions, but to upload a new cal to the positions, is it required that I Read EEC first, or can I just write to the Tweecer from the start?
Thanks again.

BTW the calcon real time light never went on, just the Tweecer RT green light was lit.
I made a fresh file and am going to set up the payload with the values you recommended. It's idling so rich my eyes burn. I'd really like to start datalogging to get the idle under control.
UPDATE: I uploaded the new "fresh" file, it took. Is the fuel pump supposed to kick on when uploading a Tweecer file? I recall my LPT Tweecer did that but this RT does not. The pump only kicks on when I Read EEC.
Anyway, I got the same DAMN error message "table not...". So, I unchecked the log to file box, and the Real Time light started blinking, but nothing popped up on the screen in either digital or analog displays. This was while the car was running. Also, when I got that error message, when I hit the stop datalog button it would not change to start datalog. I would have to close calcon altogether and restart it.
I did take the car out for a cruise after leaning the MAF curve 6% for the first 6 boxes. It idles a little better, not as rich smelling, and off idle wasn't too bad. It did buck some off idle and it surged a little at cruising. I half throttled it to about 4000 and it felt like it was popping or breaking up a little.
I wish I could get the datalogging to work so I can set everything up properly.

I get best results by making a payload, writing to Tweecer RT with the little datalog box checked and after it is done turning off the key for at least a few seconds. Then turn on the key, start CalCon and start logging....then start the car. Also you can't have CalCon loaded and make changes with CalEdit, it gives an error everytime for me.
#5 is bypass and I think can't datalog....never tried it.
Don't know what the error messages mean other than it ain't happy and don't work when you get one!
Good Luck, Don

Thanks for the help Don. I will try what you suggested as soon as the laptop battery recharges. Perhaps once I get into a groove with the datalogging this won't be so frustrating, but I thought the datalogging part was easy to operate. I did not have calcon open the same time as caledit.

Sorry your having a PITA getting this going, it sounds as if you are following all the steps. One question, did you uninstall the older version of caledit, etc or did you install over it? Also, read your CCF back from the tweecer with the payload loaded and I will check and make sure that it is getting written to the tweecer correctly. Finally, include the board rev when you send me the CCF.

Hey Mike, thanks for the reply. I sold that other laptop with the LPT Tweecer I had. This laptop is a new/used Dell running 98SE.
Okay, so I will Read Tweecer, and send you the file that comes out. I will include the board rev. with the file. I'll send it to the email address in your sig. You'll have it in an hour or so. Thanks again.

WoooHOOOO, it works! Some helpful person on the yahoo group told me to check the Logfile file to see if the "logfile.dbf" file was there. It was not. I reinstalled the Caledit/Calcon software from the CD and Yeehaw it datalogs. Hehe, this datalogger is cool as sh!^!
Here is the link to the first datalog:
www.ixpres.com/scubarick/030613154311.DBF
The KAMF was pretty low at around .94 and the IAC was at .54%, so I guess that means 54%. Once the engine temp hit 170 the KAMF came alive and the spark timing settled a little but kept bouncing between 19-22*. Now I have to recheck fuel pressure, base timing, and reset the throttle position and set up the idle and part throttle as indicated in that post by 86GT.
