base TwEECer setup on 02 GT Automatic
Where do I get the OEM binaries for a 2002 Mustang GT automatic? None of the files on TwEECer's site appear to work and my search here, Mustang message boards, TwEECer's Yahoo group, and a basic internet search was no help.
I get a successful "EEC Read Complete" message but the Scalar tab shows jacked up numbers (over 2000 ci instead of 281 ci, for example) no matter which built-in binary I choose. My EEC has MSH2 stamped on the sticker and CalEdit sees the EEC Strategy as GUFB. Board Rev. 5205B00E.
Any help? BTW, I'm new at this, so be gentle. ;)
Thanks!
John

The GUFB strategy is probably not for your processor ( A9L maybe ). You need a 4 banker and I think you should be using ryfao dat file and reading 4 banks. I have the ROM binaries for 02GT 5spd and may be close enough to get you going as probably only the transmission type is different.2002stangGT wrote:Where do I get the OEM binaries for a 2002 Mustang GT automatic? UPDATE. Still need help...
Mike shot me info that weekend to use a 4-bank BIN file to start with. Here's what I did:
-I downloaded the LLX3.BIN.
-Under Input File I selected that BIN file, then changed the bank value to 4.
-I clicked "Read EEC" and let that process finish. It says it successfully reads the EEC.
-I clicked "Write TwEECer" and saved it as a CCF file.
-I then clicked "Read TwEECer" and selected the Scalar tab. Not knowing all the mumbo-jumbo yet, I bypassed reading most of the Scalar desc/values and searched the "engine_displacement" scalar, which looks correct (shows 280.74).
Without changing anything at all I tried starting the engine with the TwEECer plugged in (TwEECer in the "off" position) and it WILL NOT turn over. I tried it in the first position with the same results. As soon as I removed the TwEECer, it would start right up.
Totally frustrated that weekend, I let the install process sit until today. I took another shot today. SAME RESULTS. Another frustrating install attempt.
-Am I missing some steps in doing the initial install? Wrong file?
-Is it possibly a defective TwEECer chip?
Thanks!

LLX3 comments
Not sure why you were told to load LLX3 binary as it is from a early 4.6L Cobra and is a 2 banker. When you load it it will bring up the CDAN4 strategy which is not the correct strategy for an O2GT auto or manual.

02GT 5sp mde2 files
Try the file(s) that novicane has uploaded over at
http://tweecer.oplnk.net/viewtopic.php?t=866
They are for a 5spd 02 but they may be good enough to 'seed'

TTT.
Anyone? This TwEECer is collecting dust with no hope of working. One of the top TwEECer tuners here in Austin (and the only one I trust) said there are still issues working with the 2002 Mustangs with no resolution from STKR. He recommended that I go see Mike Murillo in SA since he uses Autologic. I was hoping to either install it myself or have it done locally but it looks like I'll have to take a trip...
Disappointing experience with STKR and this chip...
