repairing a throttle body

Post by BongoBob » Wed Mar 18, 2015 6:21 pm

Greetings ! How detrimental are vacuum leaks (smoke tested and made good smoke) at the throttle shaft , on a speed density system? I called the manufacturer and they wont sell me seals because of liability? Anyone know where to score seals to do this ? I think it has to be resealed top and bottom of the shaft. its a smokey mess. Thanks Bongo

On a MAF based system, they're a pretty big deal, but I don't think they matter that much on a speed-density system since the MAP should detect the vacuum change.
