SICK CROWN VIC

Post by normanator1 » Tue Oct 18, 2016 12:52 pm

Having one heck of a problem getting a 1987 LTD Crown Victoria to run well. Everything but the wiring has been replaced with new or H/Perf. Distributor, ECM, Coil, Rotor, Cap, Plugs and Wires. She drops three to four cylinders off the parade and raster on the scope spiratically. It has gotten worse over time and is now consistent within a five minute period when monitoring. I'm doing resistance tests, voltage drop tests and power/ ground checks on every Ignition component. THE BIG QUESTION:
Pin 16 on the breakout box is the TFI Module Ignition Ground. This is an ECM isolated circuit. What is the resistance in this circuit to Battery Ground. I have printed off about 200 pages from an incomplete Ford EECIV manual and cannot find the value or it's contribution. ANY HELP OUT THERE? Thanks

ignition is completely independent of the ecu

if you've replaced everything but the wiring then you've found your problem

make sure the distributor is grounded well
