EEC Analyzer Unregistered

Post by Swhitney » Mon Jun 17, 2024 7:53 pm

I recently bought an EEC analyzer and received the license code. However, after placing the .lic file in the designated folder for the EEC analyzer and opening the program, it still shows as unregistered. I have contacted support but haven't received a response yet. I want to ensure I haven't missed anything in the process.

Thank you!

The only thing I can think of is that the version of EA is not up to date and the license is for a newer version. But if you are a new customer, it isn't likely you would have an old installer.

Clint should be contacting you fairly soon and help you get it sorted out. I'm sure it's something simple...unless you are running an unusual setup such as trying to install EA on a Virtual Machine or a virtualized Windows installation (e.g. Windows installed via Parallels on a Mac). In the case of these unusual installations, I believe the only option is the hardware license, which is a USB dongle. I don't know if Clint has upgraded the hardware dongle to a USB-C dongle or if they are still the older USB-A connection.

I discovered the issue! If the dongle for BE is connected and I try to open EA, it shows as unregistered. However, if I unplug the dongle and then open EA, it shows as registered. It seems the software prioritizes the dongle over the software license.
