Auto Detecting Strategies

Post by Chneff123 » Mon Aug 18, 2025 2:55 pm

Trying to get some insight into finally getting my truck tuned.

Long story short, I have a 1998 F150 with a Stroker 4.3 V6 built by Tom Yentzer at SuperSix Motorsports.
Anyways this truck has a Strategy that’s CTAF5.
I’ve been working my Tweecer for a while trying to get a Custom Calibration Tune but it’s been quite a long process
Anyway I managed to get a base tune and is idling barely driving.

Anyway I purchased a Moates chip to use Binary Editor to get a tune, seems like more Remote Tuners available for this software.

So the problem I’m having is my truck Strategy is CTAF5 and the Strategies available is CTAF3 the 1997 F series.

Anyhow I purchased what I thought was a CTAF3 ECU. But when I went to read the factory tune, Auto Dectect said it was a CTAF4,
So I proceeded to save the calibration.
But when I looked at the Scalars, Tables, and Functions no data was in the cells.
Also Binary Editor would not write to the Moates because the Bank Count could not be selected

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated
I really needed to get my Base Tune Crossed over to be able to get Logging and a Custom Tune

Thanks
