CBAZA cutting fuel at 6K

Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

CBAZA cutting fuel at 6K

Post by David Claflin » Sun Oct 01, 2017 1:25 pm

I've got the rev limit in gear on to 7050, in gear off is at 6950. You can see in datalog PW, goes to near nothing once it gets past 6K. I would think I'm still plenty far below the setting where it wouldn't be an issue.

Are your minimum-pip settings set correctly?

The PW goes to near nothing as the MAF dropped to near nothing. But also, 3 samples (.2sec) later it looks like your took you're foot off of it as the TP dropped. And depending how the data captured, it's possible it all happened at the same time. So what if you log again, but keep your foot into it for a few more seconds when it happens? Right now, it looks like you just decided to shift.

I can hear a little pop through the intake, just before it goes completely off the rails, so that's when I let off. I'll look through the datalogs and see if I've got one where I've stayed in it a little longer. If not I can do another and just stay in it longer.

Are you sure it's not valve float? Just stab the throttle in neutral/park and see when it cuts. No need to do a pull under load.

Shouldn't be, the heads are new AFR 195s, with the upgraded springs recommended by Ed Curtis.

Here's a quick stab of the throttle in second today.

Noticed the MAF voltage is getting to 4.5, that shouldn't be an issue in this instance I would think. Its a slot meter, and the same one we ran before swapping heads.
